Westgate Inn, Coudersport

I moved from Coudersport 2 years ago and returned for a long weekend visit staying at the Westgate. I liked that the rooms are large and clean, front desk service extremely friendly and accommodating, large lounge with free internet, big screen TV, cookies to munch on, and a nice variety for the continental breakfast. Close to town, stores, restaurants. A wonderful place to stay,

My wife and I were "Doing RT 6" and we stopped at the Westgate for the evening. The hotel looks nice from the outside but if you are a smoker, (and we smoke outside) you get stuck in the River Ranch or whatever they called it. It would have been nice to be told before the paperwork that we were not allowed in the main hotel. If we hadn't had all the paperwork processed, we would have never stayed. The River Ranch, a far cry from the main hotel. We should have looked for something different.

Looks like this hotel has seen some use. My room had a big iron burn in the carpet as well as torn wallpaper. It just seems this place needs a remodel job. Staff was okay, but nobody went out of their way to be helpful. I stayed one night to go star gazing because my regular hotel, Millstream was full. There is no camparison between the two.

Very clean, people oriented hotel. We booked rooms for a reunion and really enjoyed having the Allegheny River in our backyard, lots of room for the kids to run and play games.There is a grill,picnic tables and covered canopy on premises. Several stores/restaurants within walking distance. Definitely worth the price

What is the matter with the front desk people? I'm sorry that I am trying to spend my hard earned money at your place. I didn't mean to bother you. I didn't know asking for another pillow would be such a bother to you. Jerks

The lady working nights is terribly rude. The beds are hard as bricks. I stayed in a suite during my 2 week stay on business and it wasn't worth it!! I have stayed here several times because it was close to where I need to be for business. Next time, I will drive a little farther and try the Millstream.

No wonder this hotel has so many vacancies- it is overpriced and the staff is extremely rude!!! No AAA or other discounts taken. Location is terrible- close to nothing and cheaply constructed. I would not recommend this. Customer service is ZERO!

Stay on a regular basis. Room is comparable to a chain like Fairfield or Holiday Inn Express. Room rates are reasonable. Continental breakfast is OK. Depending on who is on duty the desk staff is either very friendly, grudgingly tolerant of your presence, or down right nasty. I stay because it is close to where I need to be every day I'm in town.

STAYED 2 NITES. 05-12-07 AND 05-13-07 ROOM 207 AND 208. HAD A KING SIZE BED AND A QUEEN SIZE. NICE LARGE BATHROOM. ONCE THE SHOWER WAS USED, A TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SMELL LINGERED IN THE ROOM FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES. FRIENDLY STAFF. BUT AGAIN, AFTER YOU TAKE A SHOWER, THAT SMELL IS NASTY. ROOM RATE WAS DISCOUNTED $5 BY TRIPLE A. COFFEE, CEREAL AND JUICE INCLUDED FOR BREAKFAST. ALL IN ALL, ROOM WAS GREAT. JUST WORK ON THOSE PIPES.

Friendly staff, great setting, clean rooms, basically home away from home. The staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The hotel is very clean and for the smoking section, you can tell they go out of their way to make the room freshen up after each visit. I would recommend this place to stay to anyone.
