Airport Garden Inn Hotel & Conf Center, Auckland

myself & a friend were staying overnight at auckland anniversary weekend. to say we got little sleep, and left, very tired, is an understatement! while the staff could do nothing about a very noisy party at the neighbouring property, it would have been better if we did not have to complain, at 12.30 am, about other guests. we had the misfortune to be a few doors away from a visiting sports team, who had absolutely NO respect for other guests, shouting, slamming doors, and a fish & chip picnic, in the carpark, at 12.30am!! the room itself was rather shabby, torn, mildewed nets at the window, a huge mildew stain on the drape, and a square of carpet at the bathroom door, hiding carpet worn almost to the underlay. we had seen online advertising stating that each room had cable or satelite tv, video player, coffee maker & data points, none of which were evident in our room. the fishpond between buildings was green with slime, and it was very hard to see that there was actually live fish in it!! we were very happy to leave, and very dissapointed, as a night in a hotel was a real treat for both of us.
