Lange's Groveside Motel and Resort, Acra

My husband and I along with my 16 & 12 yr old children had a ball! There is an old time motel / dirty dancing type of feel. The day is filled with a large pool and hot tub.... and poolside bar. An awning filled with cool fun directors running family games as well as bocce and outside facility arrangements for the kids to horseback ride, go carts, circus's, rock climbing and more. Its like being at Summer Camp for all ages. Dining room is a throw back.... but we loved it... The Food Was Great. ....and the service was perfect... The nightly entertainment was pretty good and the bar lounge is always fun. It does have history and the love and family that is there makes it a place I can't wait to go back to. It is very simple, basic and genuine!!! . Totally a bargain with lots of fun... We are going back in a few weeks to see the great staff and enjoy a long weekend!

ACRA MANOR HAS ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE NON STOP.MY CHILDREN WERE KEPT BUSY AND WE RELAXED. THE ACTIVITIES DIRECTORS SAMMY,LARRY WERE LIKE FAMILY TO US.FOOD WAS GREAT VEAL,STEAKS WERE COOKED TO PERFECTION.ROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN.AM RECOMMENDING ACRA TO ALL MY FRIENDS.MY KIDS CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.

THE STAFF AND OTHER GUESTS WERE SO FRIENDLY,IT SEEMED LIKE WE KNEW THEM FOR YEARS. THE ROOMS WERE NEWLY RENOVATED WITH NEW CARPETS,FURNITURE AND QUEEN BEDS.THE MENU HAD A NICE SELECTION,THE SIRLOIN STEAK I HAD WAS COOKED PERFECTLY.THE ACTIVITIES FOR MY KIDS DIDNT STOP ALL DAY, LARRY THE COUNSELOR WAS STILL GOING UNTIL MIDNIGHT,UNBELIEVABLE::::::::::WE CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT ACRA MANOR. WE HIGHLY RECCOMEND AND ARE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR.

Just came home from a 3 day weekend. After reviewing the website we were so excited, which is why we thought we were at the wrong place when we drove up. The tennis court resembled the surface of the Moon- large craters. And grass sprouting everywhere, although I don't think there is grass on the Moon. (So a step up, I suppose.) There were no ping-pong balls, but the owner went to Walmart and came back 2 hours later with some. The paddleball court was not useable - the surface was a bumpy mess and they did not have the correct ball. The pool table was stained, had no rack, no chalk and the cue sticks were bent. The furnishings in the game room resembled a frat house. Makes the security camera in the game room seem quite comical. My pillowcase was stained and when I called for a new one they seemed annoyed and in disbelief. Our bathroom light went out and I was told there were no spare bulbs on hand so we would have to wait until the next day. We have a small child - inexcuseable! Although my husband fixed it by hitting the ceiling and on it popped. I was afraid to take my shoes off in our room - the rug was so nasty. We found a hairbrush on the floor from the previous guests. The drawer to the night stand was broken and it almost fell on my 4 year old's foot. My elderly aunt was stuck in her room for 30 minutes screaming for help because the door was so warped she couldn't get it open. They offered to sand it down for her, but she changed rooms, she was so scared. At dinner, we waited almost 2 hours for the main course. One of the owners came over to ask how things were going. When we said we were the only table without food and very hungry he said nothing, walked away and proceeded to ask on the microphone if everyone was enjoying their dinner. And the 4-course meal advertised in the brochure? There were only 3 on Friday night. For lunch I asked the front desk if there were any good restaurants in the area and she said no. The owner had the nerve to add that I wouldn't find anything better than their burgers and hot dogs. Five minutes down the road we found a fabulous restaurant for lunch! From start to finish the owners and staff were either rude or completely clueless. I could actually go on...Don't waste your hard-earned money or time!

What a fabulous, relaxing, close family vacation I just had. I had more fun WITH the kids (9 and 14) than I every had waiting hours on lines at Disney. We actually had time to enjoy activities as a family. Paint ball, rollerskating, horseback riding, nature walks, paddleboating, and the shows in the night club. This is an old style, re-discover family values type vacation. I am so glad my wife booked this resort, and I am looking forward to returning next year. The staff was helpfu, the counselors were eager, and the food was amazing! Try it once and I guarantee you'll be back again.

I LOVED THIS PLACE! THEY HAVE GREAT FOOD. LOTS OF DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DAY. THE OWNERS ARE REALLY GREAT PEOPLE. THEY ARE SO THOUGHTFUL TO THINK ABOUT ALL OF THE DOGS. I LOVED THIS PLACE. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO THE WHOLE WORLD!

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a great family resort so close to home. The menu and food were out of this world, the activities for both kids and adults were non-stop, never a dull moment! The staff was courteous and friendly, you couldn't help but have a good time, we hated having to leave at the end of the week. Will definetly return next summer!

From the moment we got there, we were greeted by happy service, the front desk cler was nice, the managers were very helpful. I needed to be with my family and I had a small dog and they made a very exceptional change and put me on road side with my family we had 3 rooms. I appreciated this very much, I would have been in the other building pet friendly room by myself. My small hypoalergenic dog who is cleaner than some people was very please to be in a nice room and by our family. We had people check in beside us that weren't so nice. They were upset because we had a dog. Said their son was alergic. Our dog was in our room far away from the kid. If they had gone to the lobby with their son and if he didn't have a reaction then, because thats where I checked in with my dog not too lone ago before them. I think people just don't have anything else better to do but to trash a place Because that is the way they are. I just wanted to let you know we appreciated what this Manager had done so we could be with our family and we are sorry if he lost out on rooms from the other family. Thank you so much for making our stay one of the nicest one we ever had any where and we all will be back again. We had a GREAT time

We Went to this family resort in the Catskills, we heard about it on Resort and Lodges. Have to tell you we had so much fun and we brought our dog. They have a new little park over by the basket ball court. the kids were so happy because we didn't have to leave muffy at home. The kids had so much fun and so did my wife and I. We relaxed, the whole time there. You didn't have to worry about your kids, they have a teen counselor and child counselor who play games and tke the kids places. The food was verygood and the service was great. We met wonderful people there and we will return.
