The hotel itself was very clean, however the food was awful, breakfast was a joke, and lunch wasnt much better. Tea time was always busy with people pushing in the queue. I didnt eat alot for the 2 weeks I was there. The hotel animation team was good however the night time entertainment was very poor. The ala carte restaurant served lovely food but you had to pay extra for it. The price of the ice cream was a joke, as there is a shop outside that sells them alot cheaper. The beach is dirty and has people trying to sell you fake perfume all day, they would even wake you up to try and get you to buy it! I survived on the bread that 2 women were making in a tent by the pool bar! Some of the bar staff were extremely rude and the reception couldnt understand a word of english! Night dinner was awful spag bol every night and the chefs smoking in the kitchen. The drinks all seemed to be watered down - the coke didnt look like coke! If you want a sun bed by the pool you will have to get down there for about 6.30am! Make sure you get your deposit back for the beach towels as they lost my room card and wrote my room number over the top of someone elses!
Beds were comfortable, althiugh a little firm. Sheet was very short. Excellent Adult Only pool. Free bottled water, just go and take, free ice cream every afternoon, also free filled baps. Everything spotless. Food very plentiful, with lovely soup, probably geared more to German tastes, but plenty of choice. Puddings were little cake things, which were out of this world.!! Very sweet.!!! The turks love their honey.!! As regards their Turkish Baths, I managed to get
a full georgeous massage for 19 Euros. Don`t bother with turkish Lire, as all the shops take Euros.
We never heard an announcement about any activity, and I do like to join in, so that was disappointing, also the entertainment at night was rubbish , but I hear they are changing the entertainment people next year.
The childrens play facilities were excellent, and the two huge pools at either end of the complex were also beautiful.
The only drawbacks were, the entertainment team, the fact that the bus to Alanya went from the beach car park, which was over ( or under) a dual carriageway, with both an underpass, and a steel bridge, therefore a long walk for anybody not able. There should be a minibus service from the hotel itself, as Alanya is about 10 mins away.
Another thing is, every guest gets a free meal at the A La Carte Turkish, or Italion restaraunt which are on site. It turned out to be a set menu, not A La Carte at all, so read the menu first, and you`ll probably decide they are not worth going to.
Thats all folks. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, but with a 2hr transfer time, I doubt if I would go back.
this hotel was good except for the food It seemed to be the same all the time. Boring!I believe they were catering for Germans mainly If it had been Turkish food it would have been good because isn't that what we expected.Even breakfast was boring.
The bar staff were really attentive, the waiters the same. The domestic staff were the tops!! 100% the best. keeping our rooms really clean
i thought the hotel was extremely good for the money. It was very clean, the staff were friendly. The buffet caters fro germans so i hope next time they will have some english food. The only thing that wasnt up to my standards was the food and the lifts. The lifts broke down quite alot and my daughter actually got stuck in the lift and was extremely scared, so i think they should get this sorted a.s.a.p. but i really enjoyed my holiday and the cleaner on floor 4 was super! please give her a raise! thank you for making my stay pleasant. we liked this because it was a relaxing holiday. clean and food ok. slides to amuse everyone, football, tennis courts and best of all brillant turkish baths, a must for anyone going. we booked 4 days before going and got an excellent bargain. rafting and jeep safaris are best booked from main street in alanya, a ten min bus ride away.
Firstly I should point out that there is apparently two hotels in Turkey of the same name and having read a glowing review of "the other hotel" I was really looking forward to my holiday in a brand new hotel. My review refers the Aytur Eftalia in Alanya to prevent any confusion!
The worst thing had to be the food which was the same every morning and varied very little in the evenings. The way the food was presented reminded me of a "Boot camp" rather than a hotel. The rooms were good, with no charge for aircon though I was a bit annoyed that the floors were never cleaned. The staff in reception were not particularly friendly and almost rude. Don't get me wrong I'm not the sort of person that expects staff members to speak English and in this case their wasn't a problem but they're attitude was terrible.
Another major disappointment was the fact the hotels only pool was almost completely shaded from the sun all day.
One good point was that the fact that the beach was just over the main road though it pays to be a little cautious when crossing especially with the way the Turkish drive!
If the holiday package was room only Id have been a lot happier, by the second day we gave up on the breakfasts/dinners and ate out which for a half board deal is not good!
I have just arrived back from Eftalia Village yesterday.
The rooms are clean and the pool is nice and clean. I'm afraid the entertainment was very poor but it was the first week in the season and did have to be held in a conference room so hopely it will get better.
The beach is 50m from the hotel however the hotel is on a dual carriageway and the beach is full of rubbish and a bit like a quarry.
Alanya is only a ten minute trip on the bus for 2euros each Alanya is busier had alot of shops but they all sell the same things bags t-shirts and jewellery the bags and clothing however are replicas and not genuine.
The harbour is nice at Alanya but again has no beach. The food I'm afraid is not good at the hotel does have variety as in Pasta,Chips, Vegetables and bread but these are the same variations everyday and being buffet food is not hot.
There is a pool snack bar selling kebabs only chicken however the chicken is raw. There are drinks available a wide range including juice, squash, soft drinks, local alcohol vodka, whiskey, beer and red and white wine but very cheap tasting.
The people are friendly and helpful and many speak English. The hotel is not near any other attractions. There are games arranged for children like football, volleyball and darts. We paid 320 inclusive for this holiday which would be the maximum I would pay as the hotel is not of 4* quality.
Sorry hope this helps and fingers crossed it will be a good holiday
Eftalia Aytur is amazing at first when arriving at this hotel in the early hours i was quite scared of the first impressions & imagined that i wouldnt enjoy my stay however once the morning came the hotel came alive. It was lovely loads of areas to chill & cool down or the choice of sitting & lounging either by the pool or the private beach allocated across the road! When arrivng at the beach the beach staff are incredibly helpfull & allocate a sun lounger, not only this they wait on you hand & foot so all you have to do is lounge & enjoy the Alanya surroundings. The food was not brilliant & not excellent however this is Turkey & when it comes to self-service food they do not really understand how a meal can be put together so there is no sunday dinners hehe, however there is food available all day & its your choice to which meal u choose, although if you do wish to dine outside or at the beach it will cost but only very little for example a large tuna salad cost 3 lira & it was beautiful.
There are plenty of trips situated around this part of turkey & we took part in 3 that sounded right for our experience.
We first took part in a Turkish bath which i highly recomemend if like me you love the sun, Do this at the begining of the holiday as it helps get a golden looking tan & stops burning & peeling that the tan normally creates.
Then the Select Gulet a boat trip which took place on the seas of Alanya, amazing views, lots of swimming breaks, All inclusive food & drink again waited on hand & foot by the friendly waiters & staff. When sailing the seas you are lucky enough to see beautiful dolphins. They also say that one day on the sea equals 3days worth of sun gettin a better tan again.
Finally the Jeep Suffari which you are taking into all the high mountains which appear in the amazing sceanery around you. You are taken to little villages & tours around Turkish Houses & you are able to gain knowlege of their historical facts & day to day living.
Like many people have reviewed this part of turkey do cater for many germans, swedish & many others however this does not stop your holiday been as memorable as possible & everyone is very friendly & lovely
I would recomend this holiday to anyone i have truely enjoyed it & i shall be returning next year to enjoy the amazing beauties of Alanya.
The reosrt was very clean and tidy so please take note of this the reviews i read before going away i really did'nt want go but the people are so nice and will to do anything for you we are going to make this one of are yearly holidays. But please watch out for the jelwery shop on site great gold but don't get sucked in.
The food was nice but very much the same every night if you walk out of the resort turn left follow the road for 10 mins then you come to a shopping centre they have great bars that you can eat at for the five of us with drinks no more than 20 thats starter main course and puddings.
All in all we found turkey a great place to go if you pick this resort you've picked the best one. Also go on the jeep day out its great fun, the turkish night is a must. Well have a great holiday.
