Absolutely Repulsive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/12/08
First off, when we booked the rooms we explained that we were with a large group and wanted our rooms to be together.....that never happened. Our room ended up being at the end of a hall with no view of the outside which was disappointing. The rooms were outdated with ugly pink bathrooms that looked filthy. The linens were dirty, The towels (if you can even call them towels) had stains all over them. The bath tub was discusting. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and I was afraid of what was living on the matress. The staff was not friendly at all....that is the staff that spoke english. There was a pool but we chose not to swim in it because it was always full of young children (not that thats a huge problem but at least offer an adult swim) The only decent thing about the place was its proximity to the boardwalk. It really had nothing else going for it. It was definately not worth the $600 or so dollars we had to spend for each room for the 4 days we stayed there. some ( alot actually ) suggestions for the motel: 1) Bleach- it works wonders when washing things that are white. 2) Staff that speaks english- this is America. 3) Re-do the bathrooms. They made me want to vomit 4) More than 1 elevator. 5) Hire people to work for you that are actually nice. 6) Alarm clocks in the room would be nice. 7) Bring the price down- your place is not worth close to what you charge.

Great time at the beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/08
We have always stayed at the border of wildwood and the crest, but not anymore. This hotel was everything they offered on their website. We had a large group and booked five rooms. Eveyone was happy with their rooms. The location to the beach and boardwalk is great. We had a ball at Tucker's across the street. The staff was friendly and helpful, we drove all night to get there and when we arrived(before check-in) they hustled all of us into our rooms. Maid service was great. The rooms were clean. Towels were plentiful. The barbeque grills were clean and easy to use. The pool was clean and very large compared to what we were use to. The morning donuts were yummy, it was hard to stay away. There is plenty of seating around the hotel with areas large enough for whole group to eat together. I have been to Wildwood many, many times-but I think I have found my new place to stay. I f you are coming here just relax and enjoy the stay.

We come back year after year
By Josie Duvall, 08/24/08
What I like about this place is it is always family orinentated and they don't annoy you. You are close to everything, in walking distance, and I can go to my favorite eating places like Tuckers across the street, and All You Can Eat buffet. The rooms are very nice and clean, and we always get the room where you can cook, that is awesome. There is a nice breakfast with donuts and coffee, and the cleaning staff are very nice, they bring you towels at night also, which is very convenient. There is a barbecue which you can sit and eat with you family. And there is a sun deck, a beautiful, spacious, clean pool which is heated and open late. Some people on here have to complain about everything, there is a family setting, you are near everything, it is a wonderul place. Every year I go back I love it even more. So stop bitching, some people always want to be catered to if you don't like it here stay at the Trump Plaza, you probably find something to complain about there, that is some people's nature, always complain, well there is no complaints here, Royal Canadian is a fabulous place to stay take it from my family and I.

Resort it is Not , and wont go back .
By WilliamR, 07/11/08
OK first off This not a RESORT. we paid $600.00 for 3 nights(just our room , not the people we went with) and when we booked this hotel with friends 3 months in advance, when arriving to check in (check in was by 3:00) we were never told when booking the room there was a , get this a $150.00 deposit (for the room) plus $10.00 deposit for a room key and phone which is ok (the key and phone that is )the $150 (room deposit)was charged to my credit card now for some people with lots of money I guess they wouldnt mind but we were on a budget so that put a little damper on things , now I can understand to a point about this deposit its to make sure you dont smoke in the rooms (yes I smoke cigars here and there and my wife hates it and even at home I mostly smoke them outside ) so I guess thats a deterant , but it would have been nice to be told about the deposit WHEN BOOKING THE ROOM !!!! also when we go to stay at motels we dont want the maid service because I usually take my laptop and have various items in the room that I do not want stolen or messed with . so I put out the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door thinking that the maid service would not enter well they did anyway and also the people we went with did the same and my brother-in-laws daughter(16) was in the shower and they also had the sign on the door and they came in as well maybe they should have the DO NOT DISTURB sign in spanish as well , because 90% of the staff didnt speak english .. the stairs smelled of urine at the bottom landing . the good points about the hotel was plenty of hot water to take a shower at most times of the day , the room itself was fairly clean ,one remote didnt work and with the acception of a piece of long brown hair stuck to the inside bottom of the coffee pot now I know why there was no coffee in the room as well .. the pool was clean and heated , ther was also plenty of seating around the hotel . they do have a miniature golf course and miniature it is (Iguess its good to keep the kids busy ) In general it was an ok stay ..

a great place
By Ann, 07/11/07
What a great place for a family vacation. We have two handicap kids so we had very specfic needs when looking for a hotel. We hit the jackpot. The staff alwas had a smile and were very understanding. To the point of putting a ramp in from of our door to get the kids in and out of our room easier. It is a family enviroment so it might be considered loud at times but believe me at 10 the party is over and it is quiet time. The room was spacious and fresh. The ppol is clean and warm. The outdoor grill are cleaned on a regular basis, The laundry room is made up of one washer and dryer but very clean and they work very well. I would highly recommend this place to any family. Enjoy.

Was VERY disapointed with the vacation
By KelliC, 07/09/07
Just got back on Friday! To Start off, we had book in advance (March) a 2 room suite with a kitchenette at the Royal Canadian in Wildwood, just to get there and find out we got bumped! I guess it was because we were only staying Tuesday through Friday. We had already lugged our luggage and were tired so we stayed the night. There are 3 floors, one elevator, and then you have to walk on the balcony around all of the tables and chairs to get to the room. In the room there is not ONE plug to use for a hairdryer, clock etc. NOT ONE!! They do not supply one either. In their brochure they state "continental breakfast" just to find out that they consider donuts on the washer/dryers in the laundry room breakfast. (not a joke!!) Now I book in Wildwood because I had two 17 year olds and an 11 year old. I wanted to be close so they could enjoy some freedom. Needless to say I heard a lot of complaining due to the move. Well we get to the Shalimar and had to wait for the room to be checked. Once in we thought it was nice. However, we did find that they had not empty the garbage from previous guests and it was not pretty. The maid was reprimanded right in front of us which was a bit uncomfortable, but then when she left her key, she really heard it, and so did we. The toilet did not work and they had to come twice to fix it. The beds are very small, and my son was complaining of bites as well. No "continental breakfast" at all, and I received a $5 refund for the first night without a kitchenette. (Although at the Royal C they had told me it was $10 a day)They also tell you they will refund the $150 deposit at check out but they did not refund it for 2 days. I would not go back.
