2400 Motel, Vancouver

convenient location, but is old, smelly, noisy, the staff are helpful somewhat, rates far too high; holding credit card deposit for they say anywhere from 48 hours to ten days, even after payment in full is made!

This place is terrible. The rooms smell bad and they charge way too much money for this hole in the wall. There are drug addicts and thieves who peruse the place on a regular basis looking for cars to break into. You can tell the staff are treated badly by the management. They all look miserable and thats the kind of service they provide.

We'd stayed at the 2400 many times during the 1970s and 80s. It was charming and clean then and the management was superb. Airline people (pilots, stewardesses, etc.) were regular guests. We were back in September and the place was creepy: unclean, buggy, poorly managed and rundown. The grounds were dismal. We'd never stay at the 2400 again.

location is great, but the staff are very well poor.. The services are very bad for the amount price that there asking for.. once your paid your own your own, the staff are working just for the money they make not because they love or care about what they do. even the phone is not even including with your paid fee, you still need to pay extra every single use of the phone...

The 2400 Motel was great! Yes, it was charming... as in a period style motel. If you want comfort, cleanliness, quiet and convenient, this is the place. Here's what I loved about it: 1. Convenient to all locations. Kingsway is a diagonal street so it cuts through the town easily, making driving quick and easy. If you want to be away from the action of downtown, this is a good option. 2. Housekeeping staff made sure my room was tidy and cleaned everyday. 3. Comfortable bed!!!And the sheets were yellow, not white. Not institutional at all. 4. Quiet... I think I had a neighbor some nights but the palce was quiet. The area of town is safe but if you don't take crazy chances at home why would you here? 5. Kitchenette was very convenient and housekeeping staff made sure I had fresh dishtowels. Tip them!! 6. Front desk staff: helpful, professional and friendly. 7. Parking right in front of the door.AND you don't have to pay for parking like all the other "upscale" hotels. What I didn't care for: 1. The bathroom is VERY narrow. I'm nowhere near a plus-size person but, the shower stall measures about 2ft x 2 ft... very snug. The toilet, shower and sink worked well but, it is a narrow fit. Would I stay there again? ABSOULUTELY!!

I stayed here for a few days in August of 2004 and found it comfortable and clean. If you're into more posh furnishings and needless perks go elsewhere, but if you want clean, convenient accomodations at a reasonable price, this is the place. If you're 'intuitive' you can feel the history here!! Richard.

2400 Motel is GREAT - most everything in it is period 50's and absolutely charming. It was perfect for our group of 14 and, because of the large rooms, we never felt cramped. We cooked meals together and danced together in the living room. Something you'd never be able to do in your typical hotel! It's a blast from the past and very very fun to stay here. The management let us book 3 suites, and then when we decided (after already checking out the keys) that we'd really like to hang out w/ each other more and downgrade to 2 suites, they did it without complaint and were ultra accommodating. Affordable. Charming. Comfortable. Home away from home. If you're in the commercial drive area, of the local hotel/motels - this is definitely your best bet.

I first found out about the 2400 Motel from my parents who stayed here for part of their honeymoon in 1948. To keep the tradition alive, my wife and I spent a few days here during our honeymoon in 1984. Throughout the years, we have visited more than a dozen times. No frills, just all the things a family on a budget is looking for in a place to stay; value, cleanliness, convenient location, and room for everyone. With a family of 6 it isn't easy to find a place in Vancouver where all of us can stay in the same unit for a great price. Only a few units per building, all on one level, with drive-up convenience for unloading luggage into your room. Beautifully kept grounds with lots of greenery (which can be viewed from your kitchen table in rooms so equipped) and friendly professional staff. Highly recommended.

i was born and raised in the eastend. the 2400 is located in my old nieghborhood. i now live in kelowna so when i visit vancouver i love to stay at the 2400 motel because the staff always are friendly, the area is one i know well, and i feel at home. the staff always tries to accomidate us because i have such a large family there is usually 8-11 of us staying and if the staff can they give us the little house. it's perfect.

The 2600 Motel is a 1950's style motel in its layout, decor, and fixtures. One modern bonus is cable TV. Spacious! The kitchenette was adequate for small meals (place settings for two people are included, as well as some cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc.). I enjoyed my stay at the 2600, but there were two small issues. 1 - walls were a bit thin at times, but didn't cause major irritation. 2 - some of the units are close to the road, so traffic noise can be a problem during the day. Also, if you plan to spend a lot of time in or very near downtown Vancouver, the 2600 is a bit far out. But for the price, it's nice!
