Quiet Respite
By Gina, 05/21/07
We just returned from the 14th Annual Door County Lighthouse Walk. We spent two nights at the Parkside and were generally pleased. The motel changed hands a couple of years ago and a young couple seems to be doing well with the facility. The grounds were lovely amd the signs of spring were popping up all around the motel. There are several walking paths around the motel and a nice park across the street, but beware of all the Poison Ivy. It is everywhere, so I'd be careful with the kids and pets. Our king bed room was large, clean and comfortable. The price has gone up to about $80 per night and the county has intstituted more sales tax as well. The only problem we experienced was the poor internet service. They have tried to go wireless, but the signal strength was always extremely low and it dropped completely several times. Most of the time we just could not get connected. Overall it was very nice and peaceful and I would go back again, but I'll be sure not to expect an internet connection.

Nature Paradise

We have stayed at the Parkside for several years, as well as reserving rooms for friends and family and have been very satisfied. It has always been the best when owners resided on the premises. The owners are always friendly and accomodating, even to remembering when our anniversary was, and on a special one there were flowers and wine in our room when we arrived. Rooms have always been clean. There's a park across the street, an old country store a short distance that stays open late, shopping nearby, and just 5 miles from Sister Bay where there is lots of activity, but much quieter at the Parkside. We have never been disappointed and are hoping to stay there again next month.
