Blockade Runner Motor Inn, North Myrtle Beach

we love commng there its always a great stay very family orienented an very friendly ,clean rooms its our first choice be back this august :)

We have been going to the Blockade Runner for 17 years. Most years around the Memorial day weekend/week. and always the Labor Day week/weekend. The few years that something came up (beyond our control) we truely missed it. We don't get to get away very often and this is such a great place to go. The staff remembers us even when we call. The rooms are always so clean... We always stay on the 3rd floor and our housekeeper (jenine) has been there for a long time and always looks out for us. the restuarant that started out as Teddy's Grill has been a lot of different names and faces over the years, but has always been good food and great people . As soon as we get there we open the door to the balcany and take a deep breathe and breathe in the ocean breezes!! What a great place to relax and spend a week... A grocery, ABC, various pizza places, and breakfast places are close. I would definitley recommend this to anyone who just need a restful, peaceful vacation........

I am a regular visitor to Blockade Runner and have been for 10 yrs now. I usually stay there at least twice a year, spring and fall. I wouldn't change a thing except maybe add another washer/dryer. The rooms are updated continuously and are always bright, clean and welcoming. As I read the few negative reviews I am forced to question if they are reviewing the correct property. I have stayed in many of the rooms and have never seen anything but immaculate conditions. To the person who complained about bed bugs, you refer to it as a motel which makes me think you are reviewing another place...this is very obviously not a motel with 5 floors. I have never seen so much as an ant in any of the rooms I've stayed in. The person who complained about only having one washer/dryer for 400 units; again I don't think you have the right place. There are 5 floors with approximately 15 rooms on each floor...definitely not 400 rooms. I would agree still that another laundry set would be helpful but I have never been majorly inconvenienced by just only having the one set.

I had booked a room for a 5 nights at the Pelican Hotel which is down the road from this hotel. When I arrived it was awful. I didn't know what I was going to do, then I happen to look down the street and saw the Blockade Runner. I got a refund from the Pelican because it was horrible conditions and went to the Blockade Runner. The rates were the same but the conditions were 100x better. The hotel is older but very nice and clean. I opened my back door and could walk immediately onto the beach. The service was great. Always a made bed and clean towels each day when I returned. I even was able to have a few work faxes sent to me and had great WIFI access. Overall the Blockade Runner saved my vacation this year. I recommended this hotel to someone just the other day and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel looks older on the outside but the rooms are clean and offer small kitchens. Bathrooms have been updated also. We enjoyed the balcony view (5th floor is best) and the staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definately stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation. The hotel is in walking distance from restaurants, the pier, post office and grocery. The small kitchen is fully equiped if you want to cook, but again, the best part is being on the balcony with a terrific view of boats and the beach.

My family and I have stayed here every July for the past 7yrs. We have seen the area grow with large expensive motels/time shares and have never felt strayed. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean, quick walk to the beach, and every room is with a view. The food in the cafe is great and the staff there is very nice and friendly. The cafe maybe more expensive to some but the down home hospitality is worth it. Parking can be a bit cramped at times, but there is always a spot somewhere. We look forward to our trip and will see them again this July.

The rates were reasonable, but it is winter. The room was a tad dark with not enough lighting inside. No internet access available. No continental breakfast; they have a restaurant on premises for breakfast and lunch but it can be costly. Maid service daily. Older motel with all oceanfront rooms and in a good location.

The Blockade Runner was a wonderful place to stay. I had to go to North Myrtle Beach in December on business and decided to stay oceanfront and picked the Blockade Runner. I was happy I did. The rooms were large, well appointed, very clean and hosted a microwave, coffeemaker with coffee provided and a refrigerator. An iron and hair dryer were also provided. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. The food at Locals Cafe is great. The Blockade Runner made my trip a more pleasant one and will be going again for the next business trip I have in the area and will book for a vacation if I go to Myrtle Beach in the summer. Highly recommended for anyone at anytime.

We will not stay anywhere else when we go to N Myrtle.Everything is clean and in good working order and the location is excellent to all the entertainment and attractions you could ask for.However:you might just choose to stay close to the pool though as it is very nice with a small one for the little folks as well as the large pool and a heated tub to relax in if you like.We always go back to Blockade Runner.
