Long Key Beach Resort, St. Pete Beach

We recently returned from a most enjoyable three week holiday at Long Key, and are eagerly awaiting our next visit. Close proximity to the beach was most helpful, as hubby has difficulty walking. The maid service was a lovely treat. We were impressed with Roman's attention to the grounds which are well kept,and immaculate. The guests were wonderful, and we made lots of new friends we hope to see again next spring. The quality of the resort, the beautiful beach, the excellent management, and the beautiful sunsets are magnificent. That's why we can't wait o go back!!

This place is great for the price! We just got back and I want to go again! We stayed in room 201 for $85.00 a night. The room was clean and unlike some of the reviews I have read, there were no roaches! The staff was very friendly and willing to accomadate us in in anyway to make our stay pleasant. Most of the people that were staying there were long time customers who come every year. I think that says a lot about a place. There was a beautiful sunset each night and lots of great shells on the beach when I took my walk each morning. We were able to cook and ate most of meals in our room, but did visit a couple of great restaurants. We did not have to rent a car because we could ride the trolley for $3.50 all day. Kids under 5 could ride free and over 5 was $1.50 for an all day pass. We rode the trolley to Clearwater and stopped at John's Pass on the way back for dinner. We ate at Gator's. The food was great and so were the prices. We also ate at the Wharf in Pass-A- Grille. They have a different special each night of the week. We had the prime rib dinner for $11.95. It was excellent! I would definately recommend this to anyone who wants a beach vacation, but like me is on a budget when it comes to planning my vacation. We went to Miami Beach last year and stayed in the Trump International Hotel. I am still paying for that vacation and enjoyed the Long Key more.

The owners Roman and Lottie are awesome! We have been staying here since 1990 and have had family staying here before that before Roman and Lottie took over. We have had family reunions - wonderful family time here. The place is the greatest - we stay here several times during the year from a few days to a week at a time. We recommend to everyone. If we had our way if it was at all possible we would be there a month at a time several months out of the year. It is a great place - close to restaurants and stores. Publix is right down the road stock up on your supplies and you never have to leave - just have food delivered in or cookout. Come and enjoy your love it. Love the family running the place, love the pool facing the ocean, love the deck you can sit high in the air enjoying the sites. The rooms are old, the bathrooms need updating but they are oh so clean! Great value for the money, safe & the location can't be beat!

Well our overall stay was ok if you like large "roach like" bugs in your shower every morning and the fact that you are allowed ONE chair at the poolside, then this is the place to go. The maid service was so careless to suck a 6 diamond necklace into the vaccum cleaner with no regard to noticing that it had fallen off the nightstand that we dug out of the bag the next day through a sand sifter!!!! This place is the old foagie village of vacations. If you are not "of their kind" i would not recommend staying here. Especially if you have ANY children, the old folks floating in the pool were pissed when they "got wet" by the innocent plash of a child enjoying their summer.

loved everything. the apartment was clean and well equipped. the owners and staff were friendly and helpful. the location (right on the beach!) and close to great fishing, shopping and dining made it a perfect family place. the price was affordable too.

This is our family's favorite place to vacation!! We can't wait each year to go back and relax.

My mother-in-law, teen-aged daughter, 10 year old nephew and I spent nearly a week here. I loved it! Roman(the owner) and his wife are wonderful! After talking with several of the other vacationers, I found that all of them were returning customers. There was such a loyalty to this place. We had a beach front room that had french doors that opened up to a patio with picnic tables and grills then about 20 steps to the sand. The beach here is wide, with powder soft white sand. While we were there in October 2006, the water was a bit murky. Not sure if this is how it always is or not. It's not clear like Destin or Sarasota waters. We spent most of our time at the pool, which was very nice. Not crowded at all. It had a beautiful waterfall at one end that I enjoyed listening to as I dozed off floating on a raft. It was a very relaxing vacation for me. If you're looking for excitement, you better keep looking. There's not a whole lot to do in this area. My 14 year old daughter was bored most of the time. She's used to being able to walk to shopping areas and entertainment. About the only thing we were able to walk to was Wal-Greens and a HORRIBLE little restuarant named GiGi's. If you want to get away to a clean, well priced, friendly hotel right on the beach with a beautifl sunset, then this is the place to go!!!

The roaches we found in this place were horrible. Plus none of our sheets were clean. It was way over priced and located in a bad part of the island.

We loved our time at the Long Key. We happened upon this place on the internet and so enjoyed our stay that we are already planning another stay this year. The staff we so very accomidating and helpful. Over the July 4th weekend Roman personally watched the parking lot to ensure that we had no parking difficulties. We stayed in the smallest room available and even so we had such a wonderful time that we will never ever stay anyplace else while in St Pete beach. The room price does not reflect that the hotel is directly on the beach - the hotel next door was over a hundred dollars higher a night. The pool was wonderful and we we left we felt as if those we had stayed with were family. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone.
