Resting at over 5500 feet, the mountain rises quickly to over 9000 feet from our front entrance. The property borders 23,750 acres of National Forest Preserve where hikers and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy miles of natural wonders. Moose, mountain lion and an occasional bighorn sheep are found here and the Wellsvilles are located in a major western flyway for raptors each fall. A 9-hole executive forgiving golf course is carved among groves of Big Tooth Maple and Alpine Aspen. Two wedding gardens grace the front lawn in addition to tennis courts, decorative pools, pathways, outdoor pool, and swing sets. Nearly every room has a view of the surrounding mountains.

Hidden Treasure

Sherwood Hills Resort is a hidden treasure--one of the best kept mountain resort secrets. The location is green and serene. The rooms were gorgeous, even the standard rooms has excellent features. Well-apointed with a first-class Spa. The hotel staff was very professional and friendly. Gorgeous!

great potential, needs work

we had big problems getting to hotel from road, was snowing, they had not plowed snow very well, could have been very dangerous if there was an emergency. have been there several times and they are always remodeling. staff is unproffesional in my opinion. awesome potential if they get finished & work on there customer service

Great location, less than great service

The hotel is nestled in the mountains in a beautiful location. The service was lacking, however. When I arrived they had no confirmation of my reservation and I spent 45 mins. at odds with the desk person trying to resolve the problem. The room was nicely outfitted, but they are still renovating, so some aesthetics in the halls are lacking. When I explained to the manager the next day what had happened the night before --the inconvenience-- she seemed uncaring to say the least. Very unprofessional... The on-site restaurant, however, was great.
