Cheap Jacuzzi Suites!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/07
I've stayed here 3 times in the last two years. I like the value of getting a king room with jacuzzi for only $69/night during the week. The grounds are nice and the atmosphere is relaxed. The casino is adequate but not fancy, very low key...which I prefer. I haven't eaten their buffet food, a local pizza place will deliver. Terrible's and the Pahrump Nugget are both close by. Cons: the beds are a bit on the hard side. I wouldn't pay the weekend rate. I saw another review where they paid $119. That is too high for this place, in my opinion.

Expected Alot Better
By LUCY, 10/14/07
For $119.00 a night I expected alot better, cleaner room with at least more than a sliver of face soap. I called down to front desk (Kelly) @ 9pm for soap, but I fell asleep waiting for it, it never came, I gave up. Didn't expect so much noise, late at night or so early in the morning. The furniture must have been 30+ years old and the smallest TV I ahve seen in a hotel room. Pillow and pillow case have seen better days. I would not consider staying there again. There was a convention in town and it was about the only room I could get, I should have driven further. Best Western across the street was 100% better and quieter.

Not happy!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/07
We had looked forward to staying at Saddle West for our first visit to Pahrump. Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. The only person who was decent to us was the lady who checked us in, and she was new. Everyone, from the employees on the casino floor to the waiters acted as if they could have cared less and were just putting their time in to get a paycheck. Our room was old with not only old furnishings, but old bedding. It smelled terrible! I asked to have the bathroom floor mopped as it was sticky, particularly around the toilet, but that never happened so spread towels on the floor. Although we always travel with a coffee maker, I decided to go ahead and use theirs...until I looked inside. It was full of hair, dust, and gunk. Obviously no one had checked the cleanliness of the coffeemaker in a very long time. We asked for another room but were unable to get one on the bottom floor (I'm handicapped and can't do stairs) so just stayed. In all our travels, both my husband and myself agree that the bed in our room was the worst. The mattress had to be about as old as the hotel itself and didn't make for a comfortable night's sleep. The food in their little restaurant was mediocre at best. We had planned on staying two nights but checked out the following morning. We came to Pahrump to look it over as we've been considering it for our retirement. When we go back we definitely won't be staying at this hotel.

Pretty good for the price/location
By Eric, 12/10/06
I stayed here for its proximity to Death Valley. I was pleased with the room and service from the front desk. Room was nice and service was excellent. Glad I got a room on the second floor so I didn't have to be concerned about people above me. Didn't get opportunity to use restaurant as it seemed like there was only one in the hotel and it was crowded whenever I wanted to eat. But others were close by. All in all a pleasant place to stay and worth it for its location.

Heated Pool!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/06
I went to this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday to get away from the big city. It was the middle of December and for some reason it was snowing. We were disappointed that the weather was so lousy, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The pool was open and heated! We swam for about an hour and it was so nice! I don't care about the room or any other details, it was great to have a hotel that cared about its pool for a change!

Clean, Quiet, Relaxing and a Good Value
Stayed one night, May 28th 2006 in an exec. jacuzzi suite. A nice clean room but not really a suite. It had a large one person soaking tub with jets, a fridge and a coffee maker. I was very impressed with the courtyard/pool area. Lots of trees, bushes and other plants gave a relaxing atmosphere. There is a large covered patio next to the pool with tables and chairs for hanging out. The casino is on the small side but had a good variety of games, mostly the penny and nickel video slots type. There were a couple of blackjack tables and one craps table, not always in use. The staff are very friendly and this is a down home and very safe place to stay. All kinds of shopping, restaurants, fast food and liquor stores are close by. Also, I counted three different fireworks stores in town....quite a surprise for a Californian.

Not a hotel for young people
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/05
This hotel seems to cater to older folks and people with children. I don't recommend staying here if you like sleeping later than 7:30AM, because that's when the children start screaming, the maids start running the vacuums, and the people start doing what sounded like Sumo wrestler jumping jacks directly above your bed. The staff could be a bit friendlier, too, but I attribute their sometime lack of warmth to their not being used to young people staying there. Well, it's Pahrump, Nevada, folks. You go there to golf, not to party.

A great value
By joeSchmo, 9/14/04
I have found the Saddle West to be a great value in the Pahrump Valley area. I am a Front Sight student and they take real good care of us. The new lunch program is a bonus too. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. the heated pool is clean and comfortable. The new deluxe rooms are great and i have not had any problems here. I will stay at Saddle West everytime I come to classes.

Saddle West Hotel Casino & RV Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/22/04
Very poor, furniture was cheap and the table broke from my child placing her hand on it and standing up. My family (husband, and 3 kids including a baby) were kicked out at 12 midnight, after being gone all day, the maid reported vandalism to the room. I have never had this happen before or since and we travel a lot. I was disgusted and still am after two years. Now I find myself looking for more accomodations in Pahrump and I for sure will not even consider the Saddle West Hotel Casino & RV Park.
