Won't return to this place
By Wayne, 11/11/09
Have stayed there a few years before and it was nice then. We were disappointed to find it had not been kept up. An exercise room was advertised, but was told we would have to go next door to Fairfiled Inn and show our card. The couch was so worn out it was not fit to sit on. The kitchen area sure lacked a lot of things needed such as spatula, potholder and etc. The room was advertised for a room for 6, but only 2 bar stools to eat on. We had to take turns eating since we didn't even have a table or chairs. They said they would give us credit. After checking my bill they had given us some off on 2 nights. We stayed 3 nights. We had 2 rooms and I was embarassed about the rooms for our guest that we had praised so much. I am sure we can do better next time, as we go to that area twice a year.

Comfortable, clean handicapped room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/09
Most wheelchair accessible rooms have only 1 bed, but this hotel had 2 queens, which we need. The beds were very comfortable and room was clean. Evidently the rooms have recently been redone. Staff very helpful. Good location, easy access via Veterans Blvd. to Collier Dr. to Parkway. Would be nice if they had hot tub in pool area.

We will not be going back...
By Angie, 4/13/08
Upon entering the room we had to open both doors because of the musty odor. We had a king jacuzzi suite but the room was not as pictured. The fireplace and the tub were in the sitting area. The jets in the tub did not work very good. There was also no shampoo provided. The beds were very uncomfortable. The TV in the sitting area was very small and the remote did not work. The room where the breakfast was provided was very small and crowded. The indoor pool was not clean and the ceiling had peeling paint. Other than that, the location was good. My husband enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the horses in the field next to the hotel. Checking in and out was easy and the attendants at the front desk were very nice.

Not clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/07
This place was not clean at all. The vent was filled with bugs and dust. The beds were not comfortable and room even had candy wrappers left in it. When the heat came on there was a terrible smell.

Displeased with Hotel for the $110.00 dollars a night rate!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/07
The following reasons our family will not stay at this Hotel every again. Service: Office attendents were rude. Room Comfortable: "NO" the beds were like sleeping on rocks. Location Convenient: Yes Over all our family will not stay at this Hotel again. Due to the folling reasons. 1- Our Hotel door would not lock. 2- There were Rat's running around on the back patio an balcony's. 3- There were no complimentary shampoos offered in the bathrooms.(We had to go an buy shampoo at the local Walgreens). 4- The room was out dated, stains all over the carpets..stains on the sheets & bedspread..Refrigerator was sitting on the floor. 5- The internet access was having to take your laptop down to the lobby an access WIFI. No internet access in your hotel room.

Great location but little else
By Tinkerbell, 7/15/07
For what we paid for our room, I expect more than what we got from the Oak Tree Lodge. We had the King Suite, and it was still a disapointment. The whirlpool tub was big, but the jets were very weak. The carpet in the room was stained in two large places and the mini-fridge didn't make anything cold, and the TV in the living room was small. The private balcony overlooked a field with horses which was nice, but the balcony had 11, yes 11, different spider webs on it with large spiders. As far as the good things, the staff was nice and the pool had a water slide. The room was not a very good value for the money. We paid the same amount per night at the Seaglass Tower in Myrtle Beach and had a very nice whirlpool tub, 2 flatscreen TVs, a full kitchen, and our balcony overlooked the beach. I would not recommend staying at the Oak Tree Lodge to anyone.

creppy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/26/07
My son and I just got a standard room for the weekend but ended up finding a different hotel. We could not stand the musky smell of the room. We were afraid to take our shoes off in the room, the carpet was stained and buckling. The beds were very low to the ground and looked like boards with table cloths on them. We had to leave and I even had to pay for one night because we set our things in the room for 6 hrs while went to eat and find another room.

Stayed with you many, many times past
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/07
The last time we stayed at the Oak Tree Lodge we found that the room was not as clean as it had been in the past. This stay was in the summer of 2006. Good housekeeping is one thing I and my wife insist on. Please return to your high standards of cleanlyness. Thank You for letting me comment.
