Perry Holiday Hotel, Put-in-Bay

I liked the price and the friendliness of the staff. This place is a real deal compared to the other hotels on the island. I had read some reviews and was nervous. It is next to the water tower (which makes a good landmark for finding it), not a sewage plant as someone else noted. There were three of us, two smokers and one non. The non-smoker could smell smoke, although it was not a smoking room. For the price, she could live with that. As far as some of the rooms being rented out for people to live in, as seen in another review, I think it is absolutely wonderful that they allow college kids who work on the island to stay there. A bartender at one of the bars we went to lives there six months out of the year. I say KUDOS that someone is looking out for them at a reasonable rate!!! The only downfall I had was that I couldn't get my cup of coffee until 8am. However, you can get a $1 cup of coffee at the wharfside if you are up that early.

This is a great place. Not fancy, as you may guess from the photos and rates. But clean, comfortable and great service. Left our bags upon arriving early and the shipped my daughter's stuffed bunny home when we left it in the room at no charge. We are returning this weekend and I will review again. It seems to me that trying to change a reservation at the last minute or blaming staff for the actions or place of employ of other guests says more about the reviews authors than it does about the the hotel and it's staff.

We stayed at the Perry Holiday because we participated in the Special Olympics Poker Walk. Our reservations were made in July and were problem free. Staff was professional and polite. Our room was spacious and clean. For the cost, this was a very nice place to stay. We will definitely return and I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

My husband and I just returned form our stay at Put in Bay and this was the third year in a row to stay at Perry Holiday. There are newer resort type places on the island but this place still is our choice. The rooms were clean , clean fresh towels everyday, it is quiet and we parked our car right by our room. Our room faced out to the lawn and pool area. It is reasonably priced and is convenient because it is a 3 minute walk to the downtown places. The pool area was very clean. We had good service from the staff. Thanks again, Perry Holiday for another great stay at the Bay!

I made reservations 3 mos in advance to stay at this hotel over the 4th of July weekend. Only to arrive at the Island and discover they gave my room away and had no record of my confirmation number! They didn't even offer to make phone calls to other resorts to try to help me find accomodations. That is horrible service. I can't comment on the cleanliness of the rooms but I can tell you that management is sleezy.

What a miserable experience. The staff was rude, the smell of the building was awful (mildew and stale cigarette smoke, in what was supposed to be a non-smoking room), Lacks basic amenities such as an ice machine -- our room didn't even have hangars, and when we requested some, we were told they didn't have any! The toilet wouldn't flush, and it took hours for someone to come and fix it. Highly over-priced for the quality and service. Never again!!!!!

I have never in my life experienced such rude and obnoxious staff. They obviously haven't gone to customer service school. The Hotel was over priced and very inflexible about reservations. They also false advertise and the room rates that are listed on the internet sites are NEVER available.

My husband and I and another couple stayed over night last Firday night at the Perry Holiday. It had been some time since we stayed at the Perry Holiday, but we were very pleased and it was as great as we remembered in the past. We stayed in the building with 2 floors and were upstairs. Each couple had a room with 2 beds. The rooms were very clean- the bathrooms had the cleanest shower/ tub/ toilet we have ever seen. The beds and pillows were comfortable. It is nice because the sink is outside the bathroom so it saves time getting ready. The pool was very clean and had a snack bar. The location is great because it is 1&1/2 blocks from downtown. Our room was ready before the usual check in time so we dropped off our bags and headed for the fun! It wasn't noisy during the night. On Saturday, we left our bags at the hotel after check out while we spent most of the day on the island. They told us we could still use the pool after check out. We planned our trip at the last minute and could only stay one night. We we happy they could accomodate us. We will call the Perry again in the future when returning for a stay at the Bay!! There is so much to do on Put in Bay, and we have many great memories there- this stay is now another great memory added to our list.

This place was beyond description, dirty,located next to a sewer plant and half of the hotel was employee housing for a bar. The pool was small, cloudy and had green growth growing on the sides. NEVER again. There was one nice place we saw called the Put-in-Bay Resort but they were sold out.

When I called to make reservations I talked with Terri. She was very helpful and pleasant. When my husband, 2 daughters (10 &7), and myself arrived we were able to leave our bags and rent a golf cart for the day until our room was ready. The pool was very clean and so was our room. The beds were comfortable. We were able to walk comfortably to downtown. And we didn't hear all of the ruckus of the downtown activities at night. I think the only complaint my children and husband had was that the pool closed too early. We wished we could have stayed longer.
