No, no, no.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/09
We arrived around 11:30am, and although check-in wasn't until 2pm, the staff allowed us to check-in early with no problems. We learned that housekeeping had just finished "cleaning" our room. We walked in and found a dead cockroach laying next to the mini-fridge. The carpet was extremely dirty (we wouldn't walk around without shoes), and the bed was very hard and also seemed dirty. Despite the grimy towels, the bathroom appeared to be the cleanest part of the room. We left to explore Stone Mountain, and came back to find ANOTHER dead cockroach in the middle of our room when we returned. However, housekeeping appeared to consist of ONE young girl, so I can imagine it would be hard to keep up with the demand. For as grungy as the conditions were, there were positives. The location was right next to the highway. Stone Mountain was a 5 minute drive, tops. The staff were very kind and accomodating. Our room- a King non-smoking, was very spacious. And the price was right- with AAA discount, $45/night. We stayed 2 nights at this Econolodge, and 1 night at the Marriott Evergreen-- we could have spent 3 nights at the Econolodge for the price of our 1 night at the Marriott! In the future, if I visited Stone Mountain on a budget, I'd likely stay at this motel again. I'd recommend bringing your own blankets, sleeping bags, pillows and towels. And don't go near the continental breakfast.

Not What You'd Expect!
By Elle.Morena, 02/12/07
I've stayed here a few times and have always had a good experience! The price and what you get are not what you'd expect. On the weekends, the price goes up a little more but it's still just $50 bucks! :-) Location is great! It's right next to the highway and there are restaurants nearby. The non-smoking room I've stayed in - the same room by choice both times - comes with a double bed, sofa, table/chairs, mini fridge, cable tv, and an alarm clock. For an "economy conscious" hotel, that's great! The bathroom's clean with necessary supplies. All hotels are the same IMO when it comes to what they offer. So bring your own shampoo and toiletries just in case you need more than what's offered! I've never been up for the free breakfast but it's offered! LOL... It's pretty quiet here. The walls are a bit thin, but it's not a major deal. My only issue I have here is the late check-out. When you check in, you can let them know you are checking out late and what time! Everytime I've done this, I've gotten knocks on my door during the "normal" checkout time AND an annoying phone call! That throws a wrench in resting for a long drive home! All in all, for the price & location, this Econo Lodge is not what you'd expect! I'd recommend a stay here to ANYone! :-)
