Woodfords Inn, Markleeville

We were on our way from South Lake Tahoe to Yosemite and wanted to get out of the congestion in Tahoe. This was the perfect choice. A quaint, clean, cozy, quiet place to stay nestled in the mountains. We were treated well by both the Inn owners and "Dad" who owns the country store nearby. He made us a great breakfast before we headed south to Yosemite. Oh, and there's a famous hot springs nearby in the town of Markleeville. Enjoy!

The Woodfords Inn is a remarkable motel in the little town of Woodfords. My wife and I took our two grandchildren(ages 6 and 7) for a three night getaway. This is a wonderful motel that is very clean, comfortable,and located in a beautiful setting. We were especially delighted with the service and care from all of the staff. We felt as though we were part of the family. The grounds are well kept, the spa is very nice and the location is perfect. This motel is minutes from Lake Tahoe, Markleeville,Minden and Garderville. Our stay at the Woodfords Inn was a delightfull experience, and we will certainly visit there again.

Just spent a weekend in August here. Nice place, not a fancy resort, but who wants to stay in their room in beautiful Alpine County? Barbara is a gracious hostess who is happy to make dinner reservations or point you in the right direction for anything. Hot tub is the spot to watch the stars at night! Don't waste your money in Tahoe or Sorenson's if you are just going to sleep there! Great for fishermen, skiersm and sightseers alike.

I called Barbara at Woodfords Inn at the last minute, on a holiday weekend. She was so nice and accomodating. After a little phone mix-up, she made up for it by waiving the credit card requirement and guaranteed the room for me on my word alone. I had driven many times past the place and I was glad I finally stopped and spent the night. Wonderful base for exploring the area surrounding Lake Tahoe. I love the way it's tucked away up against a hill. Some of the best cross-country skiing locations in the country are within a short distance. For alpine skiers Kirkwood ski resort is also within 30-45 minutes. After a hard day of skiing... there's nothing better than soaking in the hot springs in nearby Markleeville.

I like how they serve you with respect in a beautiful area and a nice inn. Loved the people, food and pretty much... everything about it!!! And I almost forgot about the beautiful views!!! Don't just drive on by!!!
