Excellent Location for Tropicana Field Games
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/07
The breakfast buffet left something to be desired. The staff who maintains this was not very friendly. We had to ask for more coffee since the containers were empty. She reluctantly, with an attitude, made more. This was at 9:00AM! I could see if I was asking after breakfast was over...geesh! Bagels, toast and english muffins were not refilled. No fresh fruits available. No waffle mix to make the waffles. I'd say stay here again, but go somewhere else for breakfast. Not worth the aggrivation. We wanted to use the pool, but it was closed for chemical additions.(?) Overall I would stay again! Rooms were clean and quiet!

Nice hotel, very bad staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/07
The waitress at the breakfast room was very cranky, didn't clean the tables at all, is browsing the internet and makes comments to me and my wife because we used the pastries fork for the wafles instead of a plastic fork. We do complain at the desk but it doesn't change at all. One day they where out of coffee and my wife asked when there was coffee. The waitress only gave a cranky answer. This was our vacation so you believe we like to have friendly people when we eat or stay at a motel. Being friendly to you guest doesn't cost a thing and besides that the guest are the ones who are paying you salary. The hotel is nice with clean rooms.

Nice stay
By PhilipM, 01/09/06
Nice location, clean rooms, nice staff. We had gone to a bowl game and used this motel as a home base worked out well it was short drives (30 to 45 min) to the game and to the beach as well as Busch gardens. We would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

Awful Exprience
By Cheresse, 09/26/05
I was VERY disappointed with this hotel. I have always used the Choice Hotels and they have always been great so picking this one I thought was a no brainer, but to my surprise it is under renovation and the rooms were horrible, unless you get a renovated room. The service was just as bad. Back to the rooms. They were not clean, the carpet was filthy, there were bugs in the kitchen and bathroom along with a stale ordor in the rooms. The staff was not accomidating until we contacted the Choice 800 number and one of the representatives encourged the manger to give the rooms a good cleaning. We were not made to feel comfortable at all and this was an 8 day vacation. The only good things about this property was the swimming pool was clean and it was outdoors, The rate was excellent we used the over 60 rate and the location was ok. I will NEVER, NEVER stay here again unless there is new management and cleaner rooms.

Nice room for the money.
By Rodney, 04/14/04
My staff and I stayed at this hotel for one week while attending a training class nearby. All of us were very satisfied with the accomodations. The rooms are near-new and all circle a nice pool area. I was especially delighted with the large refrigerator, microwave, and ironing board. On a bad note, I did upgrade my room by phone one week before arriving. When I checked in, the clerk said he had no record of an upgrade, and all the suites were taken. He told me to be sure and ask for the name of the person when making such arrangements. When I told him that he was the person I spoke with, he offered management. I just said no thanks, as the room had already been given away, and I was tired. It turns out that the suites were just giant-sized regular rooms. Nothing really special. All things considered, I would recommend the place. I felt safe, and when kids were not at the pool, it was really quiet.
