Fish Lake Lodge, Richfield

I have stayed at Fish Lake twice now, Once in a "deluxe" cabin and recently in a "rustic" cabin. The deluxe cabin was ok but the furniture was very uncomfortable it rained every day we were there so we spent a lot of time inside watching tv. We also had a mouse in the cabin. The "rustic" cabins however were complete crap. After sitting on the bed I was surprised to find out it was a mattress and box spring, it felt like I had sat down on some padding on plywood. It was only slightly better than sleeping on the floor. The carpet was at least 30 years old and probably had not been cleaned since it was put in. The room had enough bed for four but only enough hot water for one. The windows don't open and there is no Air Conditioning so after a hot day on the lake you are stuck in a hot smelly cabin. There are also no phones in the cabins and the lodge closes over night so there is no one to complain to when some drunks are outside yelling at each other and fighting until 2 or 3 in the morning. There is also no cell service to call the cops when it sounds like one of the drunks got stabbed (I'm not sure that happened but it sure sounded like someone got hurt). Fish Lake is a great place but your money would be better spent staying in one of the nearby towns. Who ever is running this place is obviously not concerned about upkeep several of the cabins look like they belong in a third world country. It would also be nice if they added a bar up there somewhere so there was something to do at night besides sit in your cabin and listen to it biodegrade.
