Would not recommend to anyone!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/09
This place is beautiful on the outside only. Lots of extras outside, ponds, hammocks, fireplaces, etc. I would have to say the room I stayed in was absolutely horrific. The room was so run down and dirty. My husband drop something on the floor and under the bed had never been vacuumed. The bathroom was something out of a WWII submarine and filthy. Spiderwebs in the corners, stained sink, floors were so dirty you were afraid to walk on them. They knew how to cover up well, nice curtains and bed spread. The towels were folded very nicely. But the cleaning was terrible. The mirror was so streaked you couldn't see out of it. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very, very, overpriced.

Romantic and perfect for our anniversary
By terber, 09/26/09
My husband and I went on an anniversary road trip from Texas to Arizona to Vegas. We found Oak Creek Terrace by chance and decided to spend our anniversary there. The fireplace in the bedroom and the large jacuzzi was the perfect setting for our celebration! The upstairs balcony was private and had a wonderful view. We highly recommend this resort for a romantic getaway!!

Waste of time and money!
By Melissa, 07/04/09
If you like mouse poop in your kitchen area, this is the place for you! I understand bugs, spiders, maybe lizards but not rodents pooping where my 3 yr old was playing. My husband was up at about 2AM our first night trying to kill the mouse that ran over his feet in the bathroom. We got very little sleep and were unable to reach anyone in the office to deal with this. The next morning they moved us to a larger room that smelled awful and had a steak knife sticking out from between the fridge and cabinet. Fortunately my husband found it before our daughter did. Again, great for small children. Not sure if they even clean this place. We were not offered any of our money back. I wanted to go somewhere else but we had already spent a lot of money which was obviously not going to be returned. We were just told that "critters are the nature of the canyon." Ok, but if we wanted to deal with "critters" this trip, we would have camped for a few dollars a night - not spent almost $370 for two days. My husband and I very rarely get time off together and wanted a nice place to stay where we could have access to Oak Creek and fishing. We made the best of our time together but the unclean conditions and lack of customer service almost ruined our little vacation.

Lovely!
By Skbug23, 01/17/09
My husband and I spent the first night of our honeymoon here in room #12 and it was beautiful! The jacuzzi had plenty of room and hot water :) The fireplace worked quite well as well, the bed was VERY comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the room was quite spacious. They also had silverware/plates, as well as plastic silverware/plates and cups in the room which was very considerate. The front desk service was well handled and they were really nice. It was nice and slightly secluded...it was very romantic!

Relaxing, Enjoyable, Pleasant Atmosphere and Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/08
We drove from Oklahoma and arrived a day early. Donna (in the office @ the desk) got us in our room with no problem and supplied us with all kinds of information, coupons, and several recommendations on things to do. We spent one week in Sedona doing all things "Sedona", and spent time at the Oak Creek Terrace just lounging, playing Scrabble, and soaking in the atmosphere. ...Bliss. Dory, Aaron, Donna, and the entire staff are doing a marvelous job delivering exactly what they advertise. We would highly recommend anyone wanting a truly unencumbered stay while in Sedona to give great consideration to this little oasis! We have it already on our list of places to return. Thank you Oak Creek Terrace Resort!

can't wait to return !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/08
This place is great! The rooms are very affordable, clean, and very nice, and the staff is so friendly. I really didn't want to leave. Free Cable , and $2.00 DVD rentals were a plus, as were the grassy gazebo area, and hammocks by the water. We paid only $89.00 for a room with two huge comfortable beds, big T.V., full bath, microwave, mini fridge, and large private patio area with nice grill, table and chairs. great value !

I was a bit wary about Oak Creek Terrace, having read mixed reviews before arriving, but was delighted with all aspects of the place. Located in Oak Creek Canyon, about 4 miles out of town, the grounds were lush and well tended, the creek and hammock a treat, and the deck perfect for grilling. The cabins were snug but clean and comfortable, and the fireplace and jacuzzi ideal after hiking during the day. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you have the chance, choose a cabin as near as possible to the creek.

loved it!
By amp121868, 04/17/08
This was my first stay in Sedona and the websites do NOT do this place justice, its simply gorgeous! The grounds are beautifully kept, every cabin is unique in decor but what they all have in common is the peaceful oak creek which runs right next to the cabins. The jacuzzi, fireplace, kitchens and great beds, truly amazing staff who went way above the normal levels of customer care made us feel really welcomed and special. I have staying in some very upscale high priced hotels across the US and this place is on my list of top 3 places to stay. Dori in the office, the housekeepers and maintenance crew were awesome!

Incompetant & dishonest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/08
The problems began when my friend and I were checking in on March 19, 2008 after having made our reservation last January. While my friend was signing the paperwork for our three night reservation, I picked out some jewelry. The clerk totalled it up then handed me the credit card receipt to sign. I noticed she had overcharged me and pointed out that the amount was incorrect. I asked if she wanted to give me credit on my credit card or cash for the difference. She said she could not give me cash and didn't know how to void the transaction so I should sign the credit card slip, as is, and wait until the next day for someone else to fix it. I told her that I would not sign it because it was not correct. She then said that the amount she had 'overcharged' was not that much (as if I was making too big a deal out of it). I repeated that I could not sign the charge because it was not the right amount. She then relented and gave me money out of their cash register. After that, we were given out key for our room. We had reserved last January for a $120.00 room with a jacuzzi in what was described as a 'two-room suite.' The next two nights, we were going to move to a cheaper room - $89.00 with two queen beds. We took the key and drove down to the room only to find out there was no jacuzzi and the funky room had an extension on it for the second bed. It was, however, a single room. We called the desk clerk to report the mistake and were told that we had not reserved for a room with a jacuzzi and that anyway, they gave it to someone else who was staying there for a week! I said that we would like to have them do something for us to make up for the mistake. The clerk said they were not going to do anything. She added that if we checked out early, they would charge us for the two nights - because we had to cancel 72 hours in advance. When I said that this was due to their mistake, she said it was someone else who booked it for us and we would have to talk with her the following day. After discussing this with my friend, we took a good look at our receipt and realized that someone had written exactly what we had asked for on the order, then crossed out the $120.00 room and changed the two night rate to three nights - in other words, they changed out order without telling us. I called back and told the desk clerk that we had proof of their mistake. She then told me she would like to void our reservation and have us leave. I said that I would discuss this with my friend and get back to her. Over the next few minutes, we called a few other motels in the area and found one with a good rate closer to Sedona than this place - it's 7 miles north of the center and traffic to the place is horrendous! As soon as I hung up with the other motel, the clerk called me to see if we had found another room. When I said 'yes,' she said that was good because she had already booked out room to someone else!!! These people are rude and extremely unprofessional because it's a privately owned B & B and they think they can get away with it! I stayed here before about ten years ago and liked it but now, I found it funky and very unbecoming. The bathroom was old and musty in our room and there was no mirror in the main room - just a small one in the bathroom. Furthermore, the view is not very good here. I would recommend anyone coming to Sedona book closer to Sedona or in Oak Creek Village, which is right in the middle of the beautiful scenere. This place is not a good bargain for the money and certainly rates low on my list of hotel/B& B experiences.
