only a so so hotel
By Keyboardken, 9/7/08
It wasn't a bad place for an overnight stay but we stayed 2 nights. We left a placecard on the door to refresh the room for the second night. It was never touched. We came back the next evening, the beds weren't made, no clean towels, no coffee packets. We called the desk and they said it would be about 1/2 hour because she couldn't leave the front desk. It must be no maids work on the weekends. We also had to pay $18. to park the two nights. They have no parking lot. It seemed to be in a safe area as there was no one around and the front door was left open.

Seagate Hotel is a disgrace to Toledo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/08
This place was horrible and filthy. Besides the nasty truck stop my husband and I had the misfortune to be stuck at one time, this place ranks right up there with the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Everything in the room was dirty with visible dirt and stains and it smelled bad. The lobby, elevators, hallways, rooms....all very dirty and smelly. Our scratchy blanket on the bed had stains on it and the sheet had a hole in it. The bathroom floor was very dirty and the towels were discolored. Unbelievably gross and this place should be against the law.

Service with a smile
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/07
The best part of staying at the Seagate hotel was the friendly staff, and location. I was attending a convention at the Seagate Center, so it only made sense to stay at the attached Hotel. The staff was very happy to help in whatever requests were made, and the room was very clean. The top floor dining room was a nice expeience, because you got a wonderful city view at almost every table. I will be staying there again in the near future.

I'd Pay Double NOT To Stay Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/06
Room was vacuumed once in 3 days & we had to do it. We had to get clean towles from the front desk ourselves. We requested an iron which was delivered. 15 min. latter there was a knock on the door requesting the iron back. The stench of cigarette smoke was awful. Elevators did not always work.

Don't stay here!
By HAD, 7/5/06
I was in town for a funeral and needed a last minute stay. I see now why it was easy to get a room ...I was hungry and went to the 1 vending machine for 19 floors and found it said "use at your own risk" complete with a condom wrapper in front of it. The smoke streaked yellow walls were a nice compliment to the wrinkled dirty sheets, toenail clippings on the floor and other such filth, as well as the dirty toilet and shower. We slept in our clothes on top of the bedding with a t shirt covering the pillows. I would rather sleep in an alley before staying at the seagate again.

Didn't have what they advertised
By Sammy, 1/8/06
I had to cancel the hotel reservation because they advertised an indoor pool but when I went to check in, there was a sign that said the pool was closed. We had two children with us and the whole idea of getting a hotel was so they could swim. The girl I spoke to at the hotel was very rude and didn't care because I had booked with Travelocity. When I called Travelocity to tell them about it, I was put on hold many times, for nearly an hour, and finally told I would be able to get a refund since I didn't get what I paid for. Needless to say, I won't book with Travelocity any more, just call the hotel directly.

Needs a lot of work!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/4/06
The best thing about the Seagate is that it is attached to Seagate Convention Center, being that we attended a Convention there. It is good to be able to park in underground parking and be able to go back to our room at lunch. The Hotel needs work. The workout room was HOT-no A/C. NO one could exercise there. Restaurant service was SLOW. We left and went to the Radisson for dinner each night. Elevators broke down. However, overall it was acceptable. I also felt they rated it too high on the internet. It's about a 2-star. However, the staff was very nice and helpful. They had good breakfast arrangements. Also a reasonable price.

Not a good Experience.
By steve, 10/3/05
Although the rooms were rather inexpensive, it was not an overall good experience. The desk staff were great, when we checked in, but it went downhill from there. Right from when we got in the elevator. There was an empty booze bottle and the elevators were dirty, not swept. The room was big, but the bathtub looked awful. The cable TV was so snowy, you could barely see what was on the screen. It took at least 5 minutes to get hot water in the bathroom, and the water barely came out of the showerhead. We had to have someone come and unlock the pool twice, during normal hours the door was locked. The staff at the "non-smoking" restaurant were in there smoking up a storm, I guess because noone was in there. Had to pay to park 11$ a day. The overall shape of the hotel is old and not very neat. It needs a good renovation. The only working ice machine was on the 16th floor. Overall not a good place to stay.

Disappointing
By K. Ibarra, 5/10/05
This hotel is located downtown Toledo--attached to the convention center. If you can find on the street parking on the weekend, you can avoid the over-priced garages. Service was very unprofessional. Only one of the three elevators were in working order. We road the elevator with the housekeepers and their carts. The room was unattractive. We were on the 4th floor and heard a lot of street noise. We were directed to the top floor to get ice, because the other machines were out. The bar staff had to yell at unattended minors making a lot of noise in the pool area (next to the restaurant and bar). The staff was not trained to run the computer system and had trouble checking us out. The location was good for dining on the riverfront, visiting the market and accessing the freeway.
