Return Visit to Briarwood Inn
We again returned to Briarwood Inn for a Colorado vacation, and were even more impressed than on previous stays. The motel is under new proprietorship, and one which is intent on preserving customer loyalty -- we were given excellent nightly rates on account of our prior patronage.
Complementary wireless internet service is now available. Beds are of residential quality and draped with thick quilts. The rooms are spacious and airy and overlook a small central court; despite the hot, humid Longmont summer nights, the rooms stay cool without need for air conditioning (which is also available, however).
Many channels, including CNN, and ethnic, are viewable on in-room cable TV.
Some additional points which, to me, distinguish bed-and-breakfast quality establishments from run-of-the-mill motels and hotels:
Bathroom soap bars are thick and of good quality; ample thick towels are provided; bathtubs are porcelain -- not cheap plastic inserts -- and bath areas are tiled. Rooms have much storage and closet space.
Longmont is an ideal location from which to sally forth to locations throughout North Colorado. I especially reccomend a short drive through the eastern uplifts of the Rockies for a late-afternoon visit to Rocky Mountain National Park, followed by a twilight repast in Estes Park.
We'll be sure to return to Briarwood Inn at the earliest opportunity, be it for pleasure or to attend Company meetings.
