I would never ever go back.
By Bernice, 9/15/06
I reserved a room at the Briarwood based on the reviews I read on this site. The reviews were impressive so now I'm wondering if there's a different Briarwood Inn located in Longmont. The following is a list of what was wrong with the Briarwood: 1. Mildewy smelling hallway (probably from the hot tub) 2. Broken air conditioner. Thankfully it was cool that night. 3. Couldn't tell if the carpet was brown or red because it was so filthy. 4. My non-smoking room smelled like stale smoke. 5. There was no soap, shampoo or toilet paper in the room nor was there any stored under the sink. 6. The towels were gray in color. Should have been white. 7. The sheets had paint splatters (at least that's what I thought they were). 8. The TV set was very small and the picture was so dark I couldn't watch it. 9. The front desk manager was rude to callers asking if they knew what time it was when they called at 6:00 a.m., telling them that he didn't start work until 8. 10. When I went to check out, the innkeeper came to the front desk in pajama bottoms and a ratty t-shirt. As far as location, it was on Main Street off of 12th which was easy to locate. Would have been even easier had they told me that it was the Inn located between the pawn shop and the liquor store, across from the cemetery. If there was any redeeming quality to this Inn, I would say that the water pressure in the shower was good. That's about all. . .

Disappointing...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/06
I was looking forward to staying at Briarwood based on the review I have read - dated 2005. The place must have changed because my room was not cleaned the whole time I was there (3 nights). I even had to ask for toilet paper because it was running low. I only had a small bar of soap, and no fresh towels. Also, I asked for a non-smoking room and the occupant next door was a smoker and I was not pleased to go back to my room that smelled like next door's smoking lounge. The owners are very warm and friendly, and unless you don't mind having to go talk to them every time you need a new bar of soap or fresh towels, then the place is ok.

Wish I Was There
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/06
Just wanted to say how glad I am that I chose Briarwood for my recent stay in Longmont. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very clean, oversized room and bathroom, a very comfortable bed, desk, table with chairs, 2 comfortable sitting chairs and other amenities seldom provided by other motels. Thanks for being so personable and accommodating to me during my stay.

longmonts number one secret!!!
I travel 48 weeks out of the year and was pleasantly surprised when I came across this unique inn!! Extremely comfortable beds! I enjoyed the nice breakfast in the mornings on the patio. Room was very clean and comfortable stocked with lots of little extras,(I especially enjoyed the chocolates) on my pillow every night. I havent stayed at a more enjoyable place in years. Cant wait to return....And the nicest plus to this property is it is independtly owned and operated. The owner was on site 24 hours a day for my every need.

home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/05
There was an obvious desire to please--providing anything that should be available in a room. Maid service was slightly inconsistent in providing coffe cups, towels, etc., but corrections were prompt--and because it is a small hotel, repsonses were prompt and personal. We liked the direct contact with management. The room and mattresses were comfortable, the location was very convenient to the Rocky Mountain National Park, an outlet mall, and easy access to the Denver International Airport. Because it is not a chain, the ambiance was unique. The location is quiet, focused inward, "a home away from home". We will definitely return when we are next in the area.

Return Visit to Briarwood Inn
By Ross, 6/24/05
We again returned to Briarwood Inn for a Colorado vacation, and were even more impressed than on previous stays. The motel is under new proprietorship, and one which is intent on preserving customer loyalty -- we were given excellent nightly rates on account of our prior patronage. Complementary wireless internet service is now available. Beds are of residential quality and draped with thick quilts. The rooms are spacious and airy and overlook a small central court; despite the hot, humid Longmont summer nights, the rooms stay cool without need for air conditioning (which is also available, however). Many channels, including CNN, and ethnic, are viewable on in-room cable TV. Some additional points which, to me, distinguish bed-and-breakfast quality establishments from run-of-the-mill motels and hotels: Bathroom soap bars are thick and of good quality; ample thick towels are provided; bathtubs are porcelain -- not cheap plastic inserts -- and bath areas are tiled. Rooms have much storage and closet space. Longmont is an ideal location from which to sally forth to locations throughout North Colorado. I especially reccomend a short drive through the eastern uplifts of the Rockies for a late-afternoon visit to Rocky Mountain National Park, followed by a twilight repast in Estes Park. We'll be sure to return to Briarwood Inn at the earliest opportunity, be it for pleasure or to attend Company meetings.

Great place to stay for business or pleausure
By Scott, 6/5/05
I recently found the Briarwood Inn on the internet was pleasantly surprised. Completly satisfied with the service I recieved. Staying at this Inn is a unique experience. Great location with a wonderful courtyard with a very relaxing waterfall. Absolutely a pleasure to stay there. I loved my room with a full kitchen. It was great to cook dinner in my room for my diet requires me to not eat out. Enjoy this property. I know you will as much as I did.

Excellent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/26/05
We live in Longmont and put up two different parties at the Briarwood Inn who were visiting us: my friend and her three kids, and my parents. Both parties enjoyed their stay and were impressed with the service and accommodations. "Edward was very friendly and aimed to please," my dad said. "He bent over backwards to accommodate us." From a local's perspective, I'm delighted there's such a nice place on the north end of town and it's very affordable.

Excellent place to stay for business/pleasure
By Ross, 5/20/05
Whenever I'm in Longmont, for business, I stay at Briarwood Inn; this despite the fact that my company is willing to put me up at a far more expensive hotel. Briarwood Inn is located on a central street -- yet the rooms face a quiet rear lane -- so restaurants and shops are just several blocks away. I especially like the availability of kitchenettes; and the spacious rooms which face a charming back yard with trickling fountain. I'm returning to Longmont on vacation, and will stay at this motel. My only criticism is lack (as of about a year ago) of broadband internet/wireless.
