Nice hotel for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/10
Great location and clean. Never had any problems with the staff or cleanliness of this hotel. When you leave in the AM for breakfast and activites in town, you return in the PM room is clean and restocked. Sure some things like the carpet are wore in certian high traffic areas, but its a hotel in a busy tourist destination! Very hot water in the shower which feels great on a sore back, fridge, ironing board, iron, and nice flatscreen TV. No coffee maker in room, but for me its not a big deal. Can park once and not have to drive anywhere unless you want too! If your looking for a nice clean place for a reasonable price this is the place. Remember, you dont come to Gatlinburg to stay in your room all day, but when your there my Microtel room was nice and comfortable

NO BUGS!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/10
We wanted to leaf peep so we headed up for an over~nighter....we had stayed here before because of it's close proximity to the Gatlinburg shopping. Of course I was nervous of bed bugs because of all the press lately so as soon as we walked into our suite I yanked back the sheets and did a very thorough investigation.....ALL CLEAN! I had researched online about how to spot these critters so I was prepared. We had a blast shopping and photographing all the autumn color and returned home without any "extras".... we will be back as soon as possible !

Main course on the bed bug buffet: YOU!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/10
This hotel has bed bugs. Stayed here based on good past experience, but this time will be the last. I do not recommend patronizing this establishment. Great location. Staff is very nice, very personable and pleasant. However, none of these make up for the fact that I was the buffet for the bed bugs in our room. I was bitten from head to toe. I have a horrible rash on my face from bites or dirty sheets (cant really tell which may have caused it). It looks like I have measles--I don't. I was bitten in places on my anatomy that I can't mention. Not a good experience, but a very itchy and painful one. Stay away from this hotel. Let go of the twenty extra dollars to stay at a (hopefully) better, well-maintained hotel.

Pets
By Angel, 5/18/10
The rooms are tiny, the hallway that we sayed in all the rooms were supposed to be NO Smoking and you could smell smoke. The pillows were not clean and had somebody elses hair on it.When we called done and told them they made us go and get clean ones. And pet friendly they say. We'll they really aren't. If you have pets find someplace else to stay at.

We would go back!
By Alex L, 1/10/10
You get what you pay for and for this price it exceeded our expectations. Great location. Great price. Very clean. Friendly staff. Is it the Taj Mahal...no...but then again you are not paying Taj Mahal prices either. If what your looking for is a clean place to lay your head down at night after a fun day of shopping in Gatlinburg or sight-seeing at the Smoky Mountains National Park...you can't go wrong with this place.

Nice and Cheap
By Natasha, 12/12/09
The room was decent in size. Bed comfortable. Very clean bathroom included. You could hear the door next to you being shut and the bathroom is a little on the small side. Had very hot water which made for an awesome shower. I would recommend staying here if you are coming to Gatlinburg to go shoppin and site seeing, very close to everything walking distant which says alot because im here in December which is cold. 2 weekend nights only cost 79 dollars. Very great price.

Good Price next to Smoky Mountains National Park
By Qban Guy, 10/16/09
Unless your taking the bypass driving thru Sevierville , Pigeon Forge , to get to the south end of Gatlinburg you'll find the drive too time consuming because of the traffic , if your plans are to see the smoky mountains and stay away from the tourist traps your best bet is staying at this hotel across from the convention center and very close to the National park entrances. It was a great deal on my pocketbook using the AARP Senior discount ($81dollars/2 nights) The Room was small (guess that's why it's called Micro) but the Queen Bed was sufficient for 2 people and I found that the floorplan was well designed and a good use of space , room include Flat screen panel TV , Mini-fridge , Hair Dryer and Iron. Only problem I found was that if your neighbor in the room next door exited or entered his room the door closing could be heard at night (so be gentle and don't let the door slam), You will be on the same street as the Gatlinburg Convention Center and the Observation tower (Space needle) , Burger King , Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.. Right around the corner from Walgreens and other restaurants and shops ,and a short walk from the center of Gatlinburg. The smoky mountains offers alot of adventure for the whole family , you can tour with your car or get out of the car at designated locations for an active hike , don't let a comute to the far end of town or neigboring town take away your precious time stay at the south end of town.

Bad Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/09
This inn was overbooked. I wanted to cancel because of a rain storm that delayed my travels. They said I had to come anyway. I got there at 11:00 PM and did not have a bed. They wanted me to sleep on a sofa bed that had blood on the matteress cover. I do not recommend this place to anyone. After numerous pgone calls they would not return any of my money.

Dirty
By Daniel, 6/12/09
I am currently in the room. There is not only trash, but actually dirt on the floor. There are numerous hairs (not my own, or my wife's) on and in the bed. I called down and asked for new sheets. The front desk said I could come get some. All they had was one sheet. A thin layer of dust covers part of the room. Even during booking, I was treated as a inconvenience. I have stayed at other Microtels, and never had this experience. I will not be back.

Very Pleasant for Price / Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/31/09
The rooms aren't big, but ours was clean. We got a great price as a walk-in, (35 a night for 8 nights) and we found amenities like the mini-fridge, iron/board, and hair dryer helpful, if nothing else. The location versus the price of this hotel is by far the nicest benefit. You are IN the center of Gatlinburg. My companion and I were able to walk to any place down the streets to shop, kill time, or just enjoy the fun and lively town on the strip, without driving and spending money on parking. I could imagine how a poor review could be written about this place, but honestly for a BUDGET HOTEL, our experience was fantastic. I've spent more than 2x the money per night, and I've been less satisfied with the stay than I am here. Service is impeccable. We were satisfied with everyone's attitude in the town, but the staff here was small and eager to help with anything. A great incentive for us to return in the future.
