Disappointment for the money
By ,
If you are going to Orange Beach, you may want to reconsider staying at this hotel....I have a 8mth old son so the day before we arrived at the hotel my husband called to see if there were refrigerators available so we could make arrangements to store his formula. The man at the desk told him they do have extras and if there is one available when we get there we can have one. So we arrived the next day and asked about it, there were none...that is fine because they did have a beach front room that was $25 more a night available with a refrigerator. So I was excited you know beach front room with a balcony and a fridge, well, we got to the room and the refrigerator would not work! So now I have commited to a room for $25 more a night so I can have a refrigerator to put the babies formula in and it doesn't work! My husband went back down to the front desk and told the guy it wasn't working and he said to take it out of the cabinent, that is wasn't getting enough ventilation to the fan. Said no one could look at it until the next morning. Then a young lady walked up and said that we could use the refrigerator in the meeting room...ok so couldn't they have told us that to begin with? The refrigerator never worked any better! The view was beautiful, and the actual room was not that bad, but the bathroom had mold all in the shower! It wouldn't have been so bad for the initial price of $144, but keep in mind we had chose to take a room that cost $25 more a night for a refrigerator that didn't work! The pool was alot smaller than the picture lets on, but it was very clean and nice. Orange Beach is a beautiful place, but next time we will make sure we find a different hotel.

Not Clean
By ,
Location is perfect. The room wasn't clean at all. There was mildew on the shower curtain and shower floor. There was dust on the furniture and dirt on the bathroom vanity. There were cigarette packs and used cigarettes on our patio. There are three people in my family. We ran out of hot water every night. I do not recommend this hotel!!

Just what you need.
By ,
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Sleep Inn, Orange Beach 7/17/06. After reading many bad reviews on this website we were pleasantly surprised on what we saw. This is a good hotel to stay at if you are just going to be on the beach. The location is great and the beaches are very nice. The room was very clean and the stand up shower was cool. The balcony could barely fit a little beach chair, but hey, its not the Royal Sonesta. The elevators are very slow and sometimes wet and stinky, but that is to be expected since everyone gets into them right off of the beach. They offer a nice little breakfast, not anything much. I did find the price to be a little stiff, but what isn't these days. This is a good hotel for anyone looking to be a beach bum for a couple of days.

Location,location,location

Location is all that this Sleep Inn has to offer. The TV reception was like watching a snow storm. The rooms are dark , small and look like a good breeding place for insects, especially in the cracks in the ceiling.Be sure to bring a cooler, coffee maker and a fan or you might rather camp out.One of the two elevators did work if you have plenty of time to wait for it and you like to be cramped in small hot places with other people. Don't expect ice, bring your own.The beach was beautiful from the ledge a.k.a as the balcony.I'll be going back to Orange Beach in Sept but you can bet I'll won't be staying at Sleep Inn.

never again
By ,
my visit to SleepInn was horrible. The elevators were slow and hot. The remote didn't work. The toilet leaked. My room didn't have the amenities that the hotel offered(no microwave,no refridgerator,no iron/ironing board). The housekeeping staff was better than the front desk. For the money I paid(310.00 for 2 nights) I expected more. The best part of my stay was the beach and the pool. I will NEVER stay nor recommend this hotel.

Terrible
By ,
Moldy smelling. Mold in shower. Unfriendly desk staff. Amneties advertized were not available. TV cable reception was aweful. No color in TV. TV remote was broken. Was replaced with another broken remote. The location is fantastic; however, the room and service was not worth the money spent. I would not recommend this for a dog hotel.

Nightmare on Elm St
By ,
This hotel is in a good location. But the service here is AWFUL. Housekeepers treat you better than the front desk. Front desk was very rude, nasty attitudes. Hotel manager, appearance was awful. I couldn't believe they call her the manager. She was very rude to all the guest. she talked about her staff to some of the hotel guest. When asked about eating places around town, she was very stiff mouth and nasty when she did answer. My mom and her 75 yr old grandmother visited their this weekend. and this lady treated us like we had just walked off the street and begged her for a room. However, we had reservations, we stayed 2 nights totaling $310.70. and they treated us like we were a basket case. While we sat in the lobbying chatting with my grandmother, she turned the lights out on us, as if it was time for us to go to bed. The rooms are small, holes in the walls, look behind the pictures you'll see them. They were stingy with towels. The pool area was about the best thing they had going for them. Oh my God the elevator, it took a century for the elevators to go up/down, hot and very stinky on them. If they would get rid of everyone @ the front desk except JOHN, their service would be a-okay. But work on the elevators, fix the holes in the wall. How about putting refridgerators and microwaves in the rooms. you pay too much money and can't enjoy a bag of popcorn, without walking down to the lobby to pop them, If you try that you better make sure they don't turn the lights out on you. For all that you might want to try MOTEL 6, where the lights never go off. I wouldn't advise this hotel to anyone. Take your money elsewhere. Its not worth it. Never, Never, Never, will I even visit this hotel again. Left in the dark @ Sleep INN

Probably will not go back
By ,
This is an OK place to stay, if you only need a place to shower and sleep and want to be on the beach. I paid extra for the "balony" off beach side but didn't know it was too small for even a chair to be placed on it . Carpets are old and dirty, elevators were too slow and nasty, ice machines only on 1st, 3rd, & 6th floors, we ask for 1 extra towel and there were none clean. Never have I been in a hotel with pink sheets, Makes me wonder if they use bleach. The staff was friendly. Probably not go back.

Good place. great price..
By ,
Just came back from a trip to Orange beach and if you looking to be waited on hand and foot. Don's stay here. If your looking for a nice room at a great price this is the place. We stayed for long weekend and had an ocean front room. the beach was nice and the pool was clean and the front desk staff was great only issue i had is that i kept having to get my keys reprogrammed to get in the room and as it turns out that was my fault because my cell phone was to blame . i will definitly stay here again.

Great Value
By ,
Location and staff were great. Rooms were small and only had a shower but were clean. Pool was small but was always clean. It is hard to find a decent beach front hotel for this reasonable of a price. Beach was great. This is certainly not a resort and has no bar or restaurant. It is all self service. Lots of attractions and restaurants nearby.
