Hampton Inn Mobile-East Bay/Daphne, Daphne

We were just passing through looking for a clean place to stay. We were very satisfied with the service and our room. Two years earlier I stayed across the street at the Hilton for $180/night. Our room at Hampton was more than satisfactory. It was clean and inviting. The rooms were decorated nicely with white duvets, the yellow and aqua walls colors were warm & calming. Passing through two days after Christmas and pretty late in the evening, the Manager upgraded us to a Bay view for the same price. Which is usually a $30 upgrade. The next morning we had a beautiful sunrise view. But, the best surprise of all was the continental breakfast included with our stay. You could make your own waffles. They had omelets, turkey sausage, oatmeal, bagels and pastries, a variety of cereals, and the fresh fruit was delicious.Coffee, hot chocolate, milk, orange juice, all included. With a family of 4 we would have easily paid $30 for that breakfast. The view from the dining area was fantastic. The other patrons seemed equally as happy to be there. I noticed that they had a workout room and an outdoor pool, and there appears to be a boardwalk deck which may be part of a public park for viewing birds, turtles and other wildlife. We will check that out on our next visit. We travel between Houston and Florida about once a year and we plan to make this our halfway point of destination on our future trips. All for a cost of about $75 tax included, it was definitely worth every penny. It may not be a 5 star hotel, but I am giving it 5 stars for a mid-range priced hotel. Enjoy!!!

We found it to be a very comfortable and clean hotel. I felt I needed to respond due to the posted reviews on the Hampton Inn Daphne. First of all your posted reviews are very old. It seems unfare to travelers leave ratings that are years old. Hotels change and do upgrades, the photos did not match. Our beds had beutiful white duvet and not the floral bedspreads that were pictured. The hotel was a little pricey, but the bay view sunset was priceless.

After paying full price for our room, we were highly disappointed that neither the "bay view" nor "high floor" requests were honored. Although we are Hilton Honors members, no upgrade was allowed either. We paid over $130 for a room with a window unit air conditioner that didn't work properly, and for which the room was average, AT BEST. We are highly disapointed . . . we will stay somewhere else the next time we are in the Mobile / Fairhope area.

We were boarding the cruise ship the following day and needed a place to stay! This ws very easy to find and conveniant to the pier! Wonderful restruant 2 doors down!! Very clean and nice!! The pool area is also great! We are very particular about our hotels and this was top notch!! I would return again and highly recommend it! Great complimentary hot breakfast also!!
