Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport, Richmond

This hotel has the best service we have every received. All of the employees are so helpful. We used busses, taxi, and went on tours. If we go back we will stay at the Radisson. Very Clean and everyone was so friendly.

I went to a wedding banquet last Saturday in the ball room. The food was OK but the service was very bad. Two examples for the bad service: the host had ordered a bottle each of red and white wine on each table, The waiter didn't bring them over until after food was being served; I bought a rye from the no-host bar and it was served in a wine glass. The entire experience was like eating in a food fair.

I was at first apprehensive since I have read some reviews about the hotel. However, the reviews were years old so I hoped for the best. Although the hotel was still under renovation, the experience was awesome. The staff was very helpful. It is conveniently located (at least for us) in Richmond. Right across is the Aberdeen mall which has a food court on the top floor. It is also close to a supermarket T&T which sells Oriental food. The bed is the number bed which allows you to adjust the comfort level. Parking is $8 a day. Make sure you check if you should pay for parking or not.

The hotel was fine. We felt very "out of place" within walking distance. Catch a cab if your hungry or stay inside the hotel to eat. The pool was a nice plus.

The Radisson is by all accounts average. Rooms are decent, but by no means fancy. The location is convenient to the airport, but otherwise in a very forgettable spot. The food is fine, but not great. Pretty much what you'd expect from a hotel that is best used as a convenient place to stay before an early morning flight out of YVR. The word "President" in the title is a complete misnomer.

Richmond was our last stop of our long road trip. The location of the hotel is great because we didn't have to drive to get food, or do shopping. We walked to the nearby Aberdeen Center and Yaohan shopping center. There is a parking charge of 10 CAD. Also, there is no free wireless internet. We were told the charge is 15 CAD for 24 hours. The room is quiet(with central air conditioning) and clean, they even gave us voucher for free breakfast for two (but we didn't use it). Overall, we like this hotel and we would like to go back if we can afford it next time.

I made reservation for this hotel on Yahoo Travel, the price is good for its location, conveniently located on 3rd and Cambie, right in the middle of several malls / shopping centers built by Japanese and Hong Kong immigrants. Shopping and finding things to eat is not a problem at all! And since they're all in walking distance, you can just park your car at the hotel and walk. (Finding a parking spot in busy Richmond during the weekends can be a pain!)

Now the negatives. The price I paid online did NOT include breakfast and parking! This come as a shock to me, even though I never eat breakfast at the hotel anyway (and especially in Richmond, you're far better off finding tasty breakfast nearby). Parking is also something that's typically include for free, but they actually charge you an additional $10/day! Then, there's the obvious fact that this is in Richmond, not Vancouver. To reach Vancouver downtown is another 30 minutes car ride. If you're visiting Vancouver, then I suggest you rent a hotel located in Vancouver instead. However, if you're flying somewhere else and only stopping by Vancouver for a day of eating and drinking, then this hotel is ideal for you :D
