Dump don't waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/5/11
It's the 4th of july weekend and it was a spar of the moment thing for the grandkids and i to go to hot springs ( bad thing) but it's the only motel that after two trips there had a room . the first time we stopped there the lady said they only had 1 king not rented and after looking after 1 hour or so of looking for anothe we decided to take it and when we got there just so happen the had a double (which the had all along ) but to make a long story short , i took the kids to the pool and someone had made a mess in it (took a dump) and they didn't want to clean it . The rooms were nasty and the beds are not even on bed frames but on home made frames that don't fit the beds and the matresses are 1980 model. Oh and the breakfast is mini muffins or cereal.

The photos do not tell the ENTIRE story
By Claudia, 3/19/10
To begin our journey, we arrived on a cold evening temp around 48 degrees and it was late 10:30 pm I believe. Well I could not even walk into the lobby to check in, I had to stand outside to check-in. Then after that we proceeded to the third building C which is the building that is not pictured at all (for good reason). Our room had no deadbolt on the door.. there was a piece of wood to cover the hole. Then the door connecting the rooms was a regular closet door from 1970 which I could see the other room cleary through the opening. Then we decided at this time of night we were not going to be able to go to another hotel, so we stayed. We turned the heater on and it was about as quiet as a lawn mower, but the best part was that the heater was not a constant loud noise it would quiet for approximately 3 minutes and then proceed to make you jump from the loud noise. After a long night, we did make it through the morning until around 10 am when the drilling began, thank goodness we were not sleeping or this would have made our stay unbearable. I chose this hotel for the availability and after reading the reviews that were not current, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt hoping the renovations would have been made in a two year time period. I will tell you they have not and I have almost forgotten to mention that we also attempted to find an ice machine on the property and did not find even one in working order! I would not recommend this hotel at all and will not ever return again.

Like heatstroke, cigarettes & being short-sheeted?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/09
Then this place is for you! We booked 2 rooms at this hotel through Hotwire for about $55 per night, and were automatically assigned a smoking room. The front desk attendant asked if we meant to book a smoking room, and when I told him 'no,' he assigned us one anyway. Why the carelessness? I had to go back to get that fixed, and when we did check into our rooms, the AC had been turned off all day, and the temperature outside was 100 degrees. It took at least 6 hours for the room to cool down. And for some reason, they use sheets with really shallow pockets, so that as soon as you lie down, the sheets all come off the bed. All of us woke up every hour or so, tangled in sheets and sweating profusely. And I wouldn't mind one insect, but these rooms had flies, beetles, and mosquitoes. The housekeeping left something to be desired too, with a squashed mosquito right under the sheets, and some mysterious brown splotches in the shower and on the wall of the bathroom. My expectations are not exceptionally high for what I was told was a two-star hotel, but this was one of the most uncomfortable and unpleasant hotel stays I've ever had.

Not a Top Notch Days Inn
By BabeBoys, 9/2/08
Good Location next to some nice lake front homes. Hotel was pretty quite and peaceful. Lake view only if u can see through trees. There is a decent view from the front deck of the office. WHen we got there they had a tables and chairs on the deck however the cleaning crew took them away the next morning I thought for cleaning but they never brought them back so if you wanted to sit on the deck to see the sunset view such as it was u had to sit on the ground. Exterior is much nicer then interior. If your looking for a first rate Days Inn this is NOT IT. Our room was in Building B and everytime the guy next door walked in his room you could feel the vibration also you could feel the floor joists. Room was very very basic looks like it hadnt been redone in 15 yrs. Pool didnt use it to many things floating in it and the hot tub was FILTHY LOOKING. Staff was VERY UNHELPFUL asked the male front clerk wheres the best place to eat and what restaurant to avoid he looked at me like he never ever heard the term restaurant before. The next morning my husband called me , most hotels have a automated system to direct phone calls directly to the clients rooms not this hotel you have to go through the front desk, the girl let out a BIG Sigh like it was a inconvience to patch him through. The only clerk who was nice and friendly to us was a Indian guy when we checked out and I asked him where he had been hiding because he was the only worker there who even smiled at us during our stay. The only thing this hotel has going for it is location location location.

Disgusted and Confused
By Me, 6/16/08
okay first of all I went to Hot Springs for a Family Reunion and we stayed at the Days Inn. It says online they have a meeting room that can hold up to 75 people- Not True. It also says that there is an on-site Health Spa and Massage- Not True. It also says that there is a Beach and a Game Room, which caught my eye for the kids- Not True, Not True. The Rooms don't even have microwaves in them and we all had like 15 rooms in the reunion, so this wasnt just one mistake. They also say they have fireplaces and kithcenettes available- Not true, Not True. We will never Ever be back Again.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/08
This has to be the worst experience we've ever had staying at a motel/hotel. When we checked in, we decided to try for a double queen room instead of the king, non-smoking room we had booked. The clerk told us to wait a moment while she went to see if a room was available (?) When she returned, she told us the room was dirty (a first), so we took the King, which was no bargain either. The first night, after returning from dinner, my husband spotted empty syringes on the ground near our car. For the next couple of days, we had to call housekeeping to clean our room, make the beds, replace soiled linen, etc. The non-smoking room had cigarette burns on the furniture and our deck had old dog feces on it (no pets allowed here?) When we finally checked out, we were charged $6. more per night than we had booked and which was confirmed. We showed the printout we had brought with us of the online confirmation and the owner begrudgingly refunded the additional money. To say this was an awful experience, would be an understatement then again, in anyone's into "slumming", this is the place to go.

A PLACE WITH AN ATTITUDE!!
By David Or GloriaT, 10/13/07
WE always stay at this Days Inn and have for 6 years. Made reservations and arrived Sat. Oct. 13, 2007. After 20 minutes at the front desk no one was available to check you in. Rang nite bell many times. No one came. Finally after driving around the grounds I found the desk clerk on the back lot. She said she would be back shortly she was showing a room (?). When she came back to office she was extremely rude with an attitude that was the worse I have ever experienced. I told her I no longer wanted to check in to please cancel the reservation. Her next question was, "WHY". Well, she found out. On top of it all the manager was there thru about 80% of the exchange and never said a word.

Not bad if you're only there one night
By chris, 5/25/07
A business traveler might not have much negative to say about this place, as it is a warm bed and decent amenities. Our mistake was staying there 3 nights, when some of the annoyances that you could overlook for one night became real problems. Case in point - out of 4 light fixtures, only 2 worked. The air conditioning, refrigerator, and lavatory worked fine, but lighting was an issue. Also, even with 3 of us in the room, they continually only provided 2 sets of linens - even when we asked for more. The hotel was much more attractive outside than inside, and mosquitos were an issue (not their fault, just a fact of life). Bring bug spray if you want to get on the balcony during the spring/summer. The view of the lake that they advertise is overblown, as you could only really see it if you squinted through all the trees - its not "right on the lake" as they lead you to believe. The continental breakfast was sparse, so we ate out every morning (which we had not budgeted for). The staff was nice, the pool was great (the hot tub was waaayyyy overchlorinated), and it would be a great place to go if you just needed a bed for the night. As far as a base of operations for a multiple-day stay, I would recommend someplace else, even if it costs a little more.
