Room looked just like the picture
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/08
It was pricey - just like everything else in Key Largo. The front desk was extremely friendly as was the gift shop staff. The beds and shower were wonderful. The restaurant was wonderful for breakfast.

Gross...
By Greyjan, 4/12/08
The place looks nothing like it does in pictures. In order to rent a movie.. you must put a $50 deposit down for a DVD player... then they tell you to drive to Blockbuster! Not a normal marriott. No one to carry you luggage. Self park only and the parking is horrid. The actual building has not been renovated in what looks like 15 years. Much like a motel. The pool and bar are dirty... the beach area is about 70ft long and the sand feels like mud. Beach is also dirty. oh, and the elevators "close down" at 11 P.M. WHAaaa??? NOT RECCOMENDED... and PS.. I love marriotts. this is the worst one I have EVER been to.

WONDERFUL GET-AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/2/08
We are from Ft. Lauderdale and tend to enjoy short weekend trips around the state. This is a fantastic get-away. For the price, it is wonderfully located close enough to home but still far enough to provide lovely atmosphere. Everything you want is close. Enjoy!!

Paradise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/1/08
We travelled from Christmas to New Year's with two small children 1 1/2 and 3 1/2. Front Desk, Gift Shop, Housekeeping, Pool Bar Staff, Restaurant staff everyone made us feel attended to and comfortable. The venue is great for independent school age kids who can swim (waterways, pool, bay..lots of water). They can move about and never be too far away. It is not the newest Marriot you can stay at, but certainly a very friendly place, updated, well located and very comfortable. It is well kept and we will likely be back again....I only wish I could have had a manicure onsite, thay do have massages and facials. Fireworks on New Years were amazing!

Comfortable but place needs work
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/6/07
The location is sublime. The restaurant was good except for a few glitches, but they were quickly ratified. The front desk staff was helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. It rained immensely while we were there so we didn't enjoy the sun, pool and beach (if you could call it that) as much as we would have liked. While sitting by the pool one afternoon, it poured cats and dogs on us. Guests either headed for their rooms, crammed by the bar seeking refuge under the tree hut or some of us stood under a stairwell in front of the bathrooms. This is when I witnessed unsafe conditions at this hotel. There were puddles everywhere with no drains. The bathroom door locks don’t work very well and people can walk in on your privacy. The spa ceiling leaked heavily and water dripped on me during a massage. Afterwards I noticed that there was water all over the furniture in my room with obvious puddles everywhere. There were other incidents I won't mention, but my impression is that this location needs a revision. We loved our stay and we recommend it. The rooms were fantastic, great beds and clean rooms.

February Get Away
By AaronK, 3/1/07
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Marriott Key Largo Bay Beach Resort for seven nights and had a very good time. I used to travel extensively for work and had a lot of Marriott rewards points. We decided a nice tropical destination was just the ticket for a February break. Our main activity while at the resort was SCUBA diving. This worked out well with a dive operation on site. After the first day we just left our equipment in their lockers and only had to make the short walk to the boat from our room. Check in for morning dives is at 7:30. The breakfast buffet opens at 7:00 in an adjacent building. This gives you time to have a quick breakfast before setting out. This is the slow season for diving in the Keys and the locals think it is to cold to dive. The water temperatures were around 72 degrees and this was a nice temperature for a couple of Upstate New York divers. The dive boats and sights were not crowded. We usually had only one or two other divers with us and felt like we had the reef to ourselves. We also partook of the Parasailing and jet ski rentals at the dive shop. The room was nice. It had two queen beds. They were very high off of the floor. The beds were a little soft for my back, but my girlfriend liked them. Our room was one of the few with an "Island view". This consisted of a small parking lot and the tree line separating the property from the next one. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway, so it didn't matter to us. The room was clean and fresh except for some problems with the tile grout by the shower. Service at the resort was usually good and always friendly. We had one problem when my girlfriend’s food order got lost. We were at the pool and the bar tender who took the order worked hard to get everything straightened out and gave us a couple of free drinks. The food and service in the restaurant was good. We always had a manager come by and check on us as well as the waitress. Prices were about what you would expect from a resort, a little high, but not outrageous. The restaurant also had very nice views of the bay and we saw dolphins playing one night. The pool area was well kept up and had plenty of places to sit, but a little small. There were always plenty of clean towels on hand and had a activity center for kids to do crafts. There were a lot of kids at the resort when we were there, but it was the presidents week holiday for many schools. The pool was heated to about 80 degrees and the hot tub was very warm. The beach area next to the pool is very small and has seaweed only a few feet out, but the Florida Keys are not the place to go to if you are looking for beaches. The sand volleyball courts were a nice touch though. Also in the area are many Fishing Charters and Dolphin Swim programs. Two back country charters are based right at the hotel, but we did not use them. We did try a deep sea fishing charter and a Dolphin Swim from local places. I highly recommend the Dolphin Swim.

Don't fall for it! Not a resort!
By Danny, 9/22/06
The hotel says the offer a $50.00 a day toward drinks and food on the resort. They DO NOT. The staff says oh yeah we offer it. Then you go and sign tickets on the resort only to find when you get home they charge you for it. False advertising!!! Watch out!!! I called to get my money back for the $50.00 a day. They would not honor it, even though when I checked out they said I had a zero balance. By the way, the beach they have is nasty, and gross. They do not take care of the grounds. It is run down! Buyer beware!!!!!!!

Disappointed!
By Keith, 6/29/06
We planned to renew our vows here for our 20 year anniversary, but it was a flop - very unorganized and cheaply done (but costly). Staff was not very friendly and our room was not cleaned well. The facility itself was beautiful and had a nice beach and pool. It was expensive and we did NOT get our moneys' worth.

Love this Place
By Jan, 6/10/06
Anyone who has come to the keys knows that it can be a hit or miss on booking over the internet. There are alot of places that are just nasty. This Marriott always lives up to its Marriott name. The rooms are always clean. The service is very welcoming. I love that they have a beautiful fresh water pool and a beach to swim in. We also love the fact that we can dock our boat here for no extra charge. Most resorts charge you an extra 50 - 100 a day to use their dock. The private ramp is a little tight but so are most public ramps in the keys. We love this resort. Also do not forget to visit their spa. They are most wonderful there.
