Clean and moderately priced in a town where clean is not necessarily the norm

We stayed at the Best Western Mountain Lake Inn when our nearby reserved accommodation turned out to be squalid, despite its AAA 3 diamonds. The BWML management had all but one night of our stay covered, but promised us any cancellation if one came up ( we ended up going elsewhere) for less $$ than the dirty place.
The room was very new, clean and comfortable; there is no elevator that I could see, and the lack of a small fridge for rent was a minor inconvenience (we had a small cooler with us and replenised ice daily). Plenty of counterspace in the bathroom, too.
There is some traffic noise in the front of the motel, but we slept just fine with the window open (it's cool up there!)
