Ramada Amherst Conference Center, Amherst

The hotel shuttle picked us up from the airport and brought us right to the hotel without a problem. That night we enjoyed dinner in the hotel restaurant that featured live music, how nice! The fireplace in the restaurant was a great touch and the food was wonderful! We stayed in a room with 2 beds and I was pleasantly surprised to find they were queen sized. After a great night sleep we enjoyed a rather large continental breakfast in the morning, they even had make your own waffles! The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I had hoped they would have a pool but that did not take away from an enjoyable time. I would definitely stay here again, the price was unbeatable and the whole experience was fantastic.

First room smelled like foul odor of URINE and smoke. Changed rooms with pretentious front desk clerk who had NO finesse or class!! Yelled to the housekeeper on her walkie talkie to relocate to diff. room. Changed rooms. KEPT US ON SAME FLOOR *3rd fl.* and once AGAIN! had issues!!! SMelled of urine again but not as bad-wow, how nice, then to find out I pull sheets down AND I FIND A TON OF BLACK LONG disgusting hair in it!!! I was appalled! Called again!! so they sent housekeeping up to change beds. Walls paper thin. People moaning next room over. How embarrassing! Will never stay again. Obnoxious front desk clerk had no personality -starts spewing off about no smoking in room *we don't smoke*-blared on and on about it..So turned off by the whole place!! I couldn't believe the STENCH on the 3rd fl. Read other reviews on this hotel through orbitz,trip advisor too...I see sheets still aren't clean from 2 years ago? ??? EW!!! Never again. PAID 110.00 FOR THE NIGHT! What a waste. SHould get our money back!

Booked at least a month before our trip through central reservations and said we had 2 small dogs (mini dachshunds). The day of our trip they called our home (we were on vacation and did not get the message) to say they did not take dogs, and there was no record of dogs on our reservation. We showed up at the hotel -- after 12 hours of driving -- and were told that we could not stay because we had dogs. All the hotels in the area were booked, and central reservation were not helpful in finding us a room. Finally they agreed we could stay if we could promise our dogs would not bark (sorry, that didn't work with dachshunds). We were forced to continue on our way and finally found a pet-friendly hotel in Syracuse, 2 hours away at midnight. I contacted the Ramada when we got home -- was told the manager would contact us within a week and we still haven't heard from them.

The staff was unhelpful and snooty. They got us a bad room next to an elevator. We had to change rooms because it and the AC was soo noisy. Blech. Would not come again. But the breakfast was great. Overall, not so good.

My husband and I stayed at the Ramada Amherst this past weekend. We stayed in a room with two double beds. We pulled back the sheets in the first bed and it was full of hairs! The sheets were definitely not fresh. Also, the air conditioner was very noisy. I did not sleep well because I was so grossed out!

Location and Value were great. Quite clean. Service is average. New restaurant with see through fireplace was a nice touch. Room recently redone, modern with new TV.
