Beware the cops in Junction City they like to pick on out of state travelers. The maids that work at the ValuePlace search through belongings and steal items from the guests. Also at ValuePlace they patrol the halls for cannabis smoke, if they smell it they will call the cops. If you walk out while the cops are there they will accuse you of cannabis smoke coming from your room at which point they search it. If they find anything It'll cost you about $1,200 to get out if your from out of state. This is the norm at ALL ValuePlace hotels from what I have seen. And not to mention the beds, floors and chairs are like living on bricks. A truly low grade investor owned hotel chain.
I paid $52/night (comprable rooms were $80+) for a room that easily could have gone for four times that. I was about ten minutes from Ft. Riley, had restaurants within walking distance, and the room was lovely.
First, it was clean and bright with very little dinginess. There were clean towels, a nice sized bathroom, and all the normal things you expect to find in a hotel room like an iron and board, TV, clock, phone, etc. We also had two beds, a desk, a table and chairs, AND a refrigerator, microwave, and small coffee pot. The last three alone made up for any faults I could have found. I saved $150 easily on going out to eat by being able to buy groceries here and cook in the room.
The hotel manager was courteous, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive.
My only issue was the Coverlet on the bed had some burn holes in it. I tend to bring my own blanket anyways so it wasn't really an issue.
I would definitely stay here again.
The free wireless was a great bonus too.
