Not ecommended. Never return
By ,
We have this hotel because it is on Virgin Atlantic Vacation's package. It seems that the owner/mangement has carried their Budget and/or No Frills rating the the extreme. Nicely located and this is where being nice ends. Upon entry, one is greeted with a worn down door mat. The entry door, always opened, has chipped paint in hidious blue. The entry hall, the only public area, has a filthy and delapidated couch which should /be ready for the junk heap. There are dead potted plants along the concierge's counter. The staff are pleasant, but their knolwedge is wanting. Of the four clocks on the wall, one is missing and management doesn't bother to have it replaced or repaired. There are straight back wooden chairs along a wall for those who needed to wait for their rooms the be readied, or to by picked up by car sservice. The rooms are small and the carpeting is dirty and discolored. Linnens are thin, so are the mattresses. Only given two sets of hand and bath towels. No amenities to speak of, we were given two packets of bath gel and shampoo. Fortunately, we brought some soap with us. No facial tissues. has to buy from Queensway stores. The tea and coffee provided in the room are erratic. Thjere's only one chair in the room. Dont be fooled by some web sites, this hotel as No Bar or Restaurants. The menu posted along the frount doo are deceiving. In the morning. all guests converge at the Breakfast Room which provides Juices,Tea and COffee, sliced breads and rolls. Jams and butter are available. It never changes during the 6 days we were there, it could get to be rather monotonous. Definitely not for visitors who are looking for a leisurely and comfortable vacation, more for students on a tight budget and those from less developed countries. I hope management chnages hand soon.

no electricity - no water
By ,
I stayed in the hotel for three nights with 8 other ladies from Germany. First day electricity broke down, second day there was no water. Breakfirst is a horrible experience as the room is very small and guests have to squeeze themselves into very small space. Coffee, tea or clean dishes are very difficult to get. My room was reasonable clean, but not cleaned before late afternoon. I left a tipp for the service which was taken before the room was actually cleaned. I would never recommend the hotel to people I don't hate.

The queen never slept here
By ,
I stayed in the Hotel for 5 nights, it was very dirty and old. Just one lift was working and it was very very small, good for kissing your girlfriend cause it's quite slow too. The bed was awful. Breakfast was really bad as well. Sheets, blankets, pillows and towels were not clean and I guess that they are not changed but weekly.Just 2 good things: Very helpful staff and good location. Look for another place to stay or wait for "under new management".

a pleasant surprise
By ,
i booked this hotel through virgin vacations. after reading the reviews posted on this site (as well as other places) I was very nervous and even tried to change my reservation. however, my experience at this hotel was a big surprise. First of all, this is not a four star hotel, thats not a question but for what i paid i was actually very impressed. the service was great - we arrived 4 hours before check in and they rushed to clean our room first so that we could take a nap. the people at the front desk were always helpful and friendly the entire week we were there. our shower was broken (it squirted water everywhere) and they had it replaced by the time we returned to the hotel in the late afternoon. the room was small but clean. the bathroom was clean and even looked relativly new. and the place was quiet. this is not a hotel you go to if you are planning on spending a lot of time in your room (but in london who is) and i would definetly go back if i was booking another budget vacation.

Bedbug vacation spot
By ,
I stayed here with a large group recently and was horrified when I awoke to bites while sleeping. This was a very dirty hotel, the lift only worked one of the three days here (can't imagine somebody staying here with physical disabilities), and it had bedbugs. What made it all the more exciting was the manager was constantly in meetings everytime I asked to complain. Great location, but I could have slept in Hyde park and had the same probably without the bugs. Do not stay here!!!!

Think about it before ...
By ,
I've been to this hotel with 4 friends and I've have been very disapointed. First, I found hairs on my bed. Then, the wall paper was falling; my window was in front of a wall (no light) ; you could hear every one in the corridors. Finally wa had to pay to get a correct british breakfast. It's only a good place to sleep.
