Consistantly outstanding service
By s, 8/3/10
My wife and I frequently visit Lake Tahoe and always stay at the Embassy Suites. The rooms are tastefully furnished and the service is superior to other hotels. Ask for Jeremy at the front desk, he is outstanding! He is personable and his follow-up is great!

very nice and clean
My wife and I LOVED our stay here... The staff was very friendly, the rooms were VERY clean and we also appreciated the Hotels emphasis on GREEN... We try to stay at the most ecologically friendly hotels whenever we travel and have NEVER seen this one rivaled... That and the happy hour left us feeling good in different ways. We will for SURE return!

Not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/15/10
We went here on New Years Eve - there is a party out in the street that shouldn't be missed - but don't stay here! For the money, choose one of the other nearby hotels. The best part was the breakfast. Our room looked old and tired. The valet parking was a joke - just park the car yourself. The service was bad - certainly not what you would expect when you pay this kind of money for a room...

"Monet Hotel" Looks good outside!
By NewlyWed, 2/8/09
My husband I wanted to celebrate our 6 month wedding anniversary with syle and class. We had stayed at other hotels/resorts in S. Lake Tahoe and decided to splurge on a classier hotel. We assumed that since we were paying more per night, that we would receive more....that was a far fetched idea. 1. Upon arrival, the Vallet sign read, $25.00 a day; they parked out car out in the public lot, which we could of done ourselves. Rip Off 2. We entered our room to find a wasted amount of space; 2 room splitted in 2 with an akward door that must be kept closed if you wanted to use the bathroom 3. My huband went to use the restroom to find that there was no water in the bowl nor tank. Luckily my husband has a general contractor background and was able to turn the toliet on, this isnt something that he should have to do. 4. Another disappointment was the lack of a bathtub. At $329.00 a night, theer should be a 2 person jacuzzi tub, not a standard tub that people have in their apartment. 5. The highlight of night was when I went to wash my hands and face, no water pressure in bathroom facuet, and the faucet was positioned very awkwardly. 6. And if it couldnt get any worse, I went to draw a bath, to luke warm water! Apprently, the hotel was having plumbing issues. We waited until the next morning to shower to find that the luke warm water turned into cold water. NO HOT WATER IN A 4* STAR HOTEL??? We were extremly upset and called Guest Services, to speak to a rep that said, " We apologize for the inconvenice, we did not know which rooms were affected by the plumbing issues, we can offer you a $100 credit" Later that afternoon, we assumed that the water issue would be fixed, WRONG! Still NO HOT WATER! At this point our romantic redenvous was ruined. I contacted the Hotel Manager and told her I was mortified and that I would not stay at this hotel again. She compted our 2 night stay. This gesture will still prevent me for returning to this Monet Hotel.

Nice Hotels, but SUCKY parking structure.
By FTW, 8/31/08
This hotel is in a prime position and you can do pretty everything from there. the staff is nice, the pool and spa is awesome. the room is big, clean and nice. the only i hate about this place is parking... you either fork out $20/day for valet or risk giving yourself high blood pressure and LIKELY ruin your day from all the stupid people parking from places where they should not park. Since you have to compete with the Harrahs casino goers parking is a pain. They have a parking structure for 300 cars, but they are expecting 400 cars to show up. Have a blast by paid the valet fee you will make your day a lot more enjoyable.

Enoyed Our Stay
By Sin, 8/27/08
My wife and I had never stayed in the Tahoe area before staying at the Embassy Suites. The reviews seemed good and the pictures made it look nice so we booked a two night get away and were not disappointed. It was quite chilly so it was nice to have all the rooms facing inward. The place was clean and well kept and the basic single king bed, one bedroom was room was decent. Self parking is a bit akward because you have to pull into a small street that takes you to the front of the hotel. If you opt to self park you have to pull ahead and park about 1000 ft from the entrance so be sure to unload first. This place is literally on the border of CA and NV and right next to Harrahs and Harveys. For $130 -160 a night I think its worth it. Included in the price is a complimentary breakfast thats served in the open lobby area until 10am. We ate there both mornings and saved the trip out for breakfast and I'm sure saved $20 - 30 by not going out for breakfast. I recommend this for individuals, couples, and families.

Bed Bug Bites
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/26/07
We (husband, wife, and three children-age 12 yrs, 3 yrs, and 18 months) stayed three nights on the 5th floor - Room 520, in the corner. I noticed bites on my lower back and left leg in the morning and remarked to my husband that I had been bitten by something. The bites were in lines and clusters and were extremely itchy. I suspected bed bugs but my husband was skeptical because he did not have any, nor did our kids. I was the only one who slept in the bed next to the window (far side), however. The housekeepers seem to only know how to vacuum the main floor areas, and neglect the areas where the floor meets the wall. The underside of the beds were disgustingly dusty and I found items from the previous guests (a pair of ski gloves, and a plastic lid). GROSS. I received more bites on the second and third nights. I wish that I would have said something to the hotel management before we left. I emailed them when we returned home and have not heard back from them, despite them saying that they would respond within one business day. As for me being the only one in our family to have been bitten, I asked the pediatrician about it. He said that the rest of the family was most likely bitten too, but not everyone has an allergic reaction. I did notice small bumps on my youngest child. We also noticed that the hotel had a HUGE amount of mattresses delivered while we were staying there. I am almost certain that THEY KNOW that they have an infestation of bed bugs. I am hoping and praying that we did not bring any of the bed bugs home with us. I tried to wash everything that came in contact with the room. Other disappointments were the "indoor" pool being extremely cold - my kids could not even enjoy it. The concierge staff being very NON-helpful, unless you count trying to sell us on the idea of going to one of their time-share seminars. The hot tub was cordoned off also for a while. Also very gross was the stink that was on the ground floor lobby area. The "pond" smelled like stinky feet (moldy smell). This hotel is definitely NOT worth your money. I am so disappointed, I could cry. We don't go on many family vacations. In fact, this was our only trip in 2007. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Summer vacation 2007
By ScottA, 11/21/07
I planned a summer vacation to celebrate my brother in laws 55th birthday. We had a mini family reunion with his younger brother and wife joining us along with his daughter. The location was perfect. It was right on the Nevada border. We could walk then feet and be in a casino if we so desired. The Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The view from the ski lift is awesome. We went to the Shakespeare festival on the Nevada side, an Indian Arts Festival on the California side and visited nearby Virginia City, Nevada. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The concierge was extremely helpful.

Great place to stay when you want walk around South Lake. No car, no cab especially after a night in a casino. Just walk back to your room. Great breakfast and Happy hour!
