Howard Johnson Huntington Beach, Huntington Beach

I should have read these reviews before I made the reservations, but it's a good location, and the room was OK. Only on the return trip home did the bed bug bites fester to the point of no return. A few minutes on the Internet to look at symptoms and pictures of bed bug bites and confirmation by my doctor the next day initially made me feel better knowing what had afflicted me, but after a couple more days of I've traveled overseas to Asia, the Middle East, South America but have never been attacked by bed bugs. I just left a voice mail message for the manager and complained on the Howard Johnson "Contact Us" page of its web site, and I plan to contact the Huntington Beach health authorities next. If any reader of this review and the writers of other reviews on this hotel have any additional suggestions on how to clean up this hotel, pass them on to me.

FIRST TO BEGIN THE BED WAS HARD AS A ROCK WE ONLY STAYED ONE NITE AND THAT WAS ENOUGH, THE CONT. BREAKFAST THAT WAS A JOKE, THERE WAS NO MILK FOR THE CEREAL THE MUFFINS WERE HARD AS A ROCK, AND NO COFFEE. WE HAD A SUITE AND THE AC UNIT WAS AT ONE END OF THE ROOM AND THE BED WAS AT THE OPPSITE SIDE WITH THE BATHROOM BLOCKING ANY KIND OF AIR CIRCULATION. ITS ALRIGHT IF YOUR NOT LOOKING FOR A GREAT PLACE.

We have stayed here before and it was a great place. Since our recent stay, I know we will not be staying there again. Bathroom were not well maintain and towels that they give you are cheap. Room key didn't work half the time. You would think that it was in Huntington Beach that they would better present themselves

It would be wise to adhere to the standard of no more than 4 people per room. I was unfortunate enough to have 8+ occupants in both rooms next to me. I was unable to sleep all night with all their yelling, door pounding, and obnoxious behavior. They were high school/college kids who wanted to party. I was not able to hear silence until 4am. Then it resumed at 10am at which time they decided to check out. I've stayed at this particular location many times before and this is the second time noise has been an issue. The first time around was bad but not this bad. I will never stay at the Howard Johnson Huntington Beach ever again nor would I recommend it to friends.

This hotel is a rundown party hotel, and should only be used a last resort for families and business travelers. If your a young partier that wants to go until 4am, you might feel right at home. The only thing good about my stay was the refund!
