Quality Inn Elyria, Elyria

When traveling with my pre-teen daughter, we were awoken to people checking in next to us at 3:15am on a Sunday morning. Based upon EVERYTHING I could hear, it was a 'lady of the night' with her customer. I complained to the desk, and they made US move. Not wanting to expose my child to such things, I took my sleepy girl and all our things down the hall to a quite, but COLD room. This is a seedy low-class place. We never received so much as an apology. Frankly, I should have just called the police and let them deal with this house of ill repute!

Okay, first off... we went to check in and the lady behind the counter was flat out rude. She had her daughter with a baby in the backroom behind the counter, which I'm pretty sure she wasn't supposed to be back there because she kept trying to hide her. Also, she was more preoccupied with her granddaughter that was running around the lobby than with her job. When we got in there, there was a huge yellow stain on the carpet in the hallway and it reeked of cigarette smoke through the entire hallway. We got a nonsmoking whirlpool room that smelled like smoke, the whirlpool and the shower were a combined unit, which was not listed in the description of the room. The shower/whirlpool was right next to the bed with a see through shower curtain which was not appreciated. I was staying in the room with my girlfriend and we are very modest people and did not understand why the shower would be right beside the bed. Also the bathroom, which just had a toliet, had no door to the room. We found that greatly disturbing as we were also not informed of this. We would have tried to switch rooms but the person in line in front of us was informed that there were no extra rooms and that they had to go to the Holiday inn if they wanted a room. Also as we checked out, my girlfriend told them our room number and we were checking out and the receipt was just thrown at her as the receptionist walked away. I hope that this is not the way that all of the Comfort Inns are run. I have stayed in them before and enjoyed them until this visit. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
