SIMPLY POOR
Dear ....,
I hope you have well returned home.
The congress was amazing and I really
enjoyed the contents of it.
The only problem was the selection of
the hotel Abu Nawas as a congress hotel,
which me and my General Manager had
to stay there, as during our reservation
Sheraton was announced it was fully booked.
Abu Nawas hotel, however was a real disaster.
As for example one person has brought a safety
deposit box to my room, as against the rate
they charged us their room standart was only
to accomodate by bringing in a safety deposit
box, in the minds of the hotel management. The
room was simply poor, beyond it is changeable with
simply a safety deposit box brought in by hand carriage,
even the water basins were blocked, and needed repair,
and I would not even again let anybody who would ask me
about a hotel in Tunis, NEVER ABU NAWAS ! Last day during
checking out, the cashier asked me and mr GM to sign a
paper probably showing our company prepayment (before our
stay our company have paid full amount to this hotel),
and we thought it would be good to receive a copy of
the same paper which we were asked to sign, as it is
usual all over the world, to receive a copy of what you
sign) we were rejected. The reason simply was, that we did
not pay by ourselves, and hence we couldn't get it. A
gentleman, appearing as the Responsable Commercial, Mr Khaled Bourada, whom we approached for asking this problem and getting a copy of our hotel statement, in order to proove our company we stayed there, rejected this matter, and all people involved into this matter in the hotel created a real mess and a mystery out of this subject in always rejecting what we as the customers wer saying. I think the congress administration should know this. Now, I will also go to the Yahoo, and leave the same remarks if this hotel has a presence in the Yahoo, too. Then, I will try to contact the Tunisian Ministry for Tourism and try to drop the same remarks there. To cut the story short, everything else in Tunis was quite good, except the Hotel Abu Nawas, which is really a bad choice for such an organisation. Thanks to our Tunisian friends for all what they achieved in organising the Congress.
Best Regards
