Aging
By John Lee, 2/24/08
Great location, and great Japan service. However, this hotel is run down, and in need of renovation. My comparison is to the Grand Intercontinental in Seoul, which is MUCH nicer. Other notes: - wifi network is a bit slow, but is free. - TV's in room have limited channel selection. Somewhat standard for Japan, but still disappointing.

Excellent Hotel and Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/07
What an excellent location for a great Hotel. Located with a view of the harbor, next to a large retail center and easy access to the rail system and Japan. There are many other new and modern retail stores walking distance. Standard room design and size for a very good westerm style room. Comfortable and very clean and well kept. I will return to hotel no the next visit.

Good from the outside
By C, 2/1/07
It's a nice looking hotel, a landmark in Yokohama. The lobby is impressive, and the view from some of the rooms is probably one of the best in Japan (though you'll have to pay extra to get it). The location, it depends on what you're into. The Minato Mirai 21 area is really cool during the day. Very futuristic, and nice to walk around. But the place pretty much shuts down at 10pm. You won't find many bars or late night restaurants, so you may be stuck eating at the hotel. Trains in the area only run to about midnight. It was clean, and service was OK (I tried to call the front desk once, but nobody answered the phone). The linens in my 'superior' room were quite frankly ugly and dated. After staying at nicer, more modern hotels, that type of thing really stands out. Wireless internet is free, but I couldn't get a connection from inside my room. I had to bring my laptop out to the hallway to use it (and the antenna was right outside my door). There are better hotels in the Minato Mirai 21 area for around the same price. Check around first.

Been there over 100 nights
The service is very good. They are very flexible on reservations changes. A bus runs directly from Narita to the hotel door. Every room has wireless LAN. The add ons are very expensive - beers run 1000 yen per drink, 2800 yen per visit to the fitness center, they canceled the shuttle bus and the rooms should be cleaner. In the end, the service is very good so that's why I stay there.

A Futuristic Side to Japan...
By Ives, 7/23/05
The Intercontinental is located in a new, must-check-it-out area - Minato Minrai. We paid $10 more/night to get the bay view, & it was worth it! 1) Room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Toiletries provided were thoughtful. Included bath salts for luxuriating in the deep bathtub; & a scrungee with the shower cap; and more. 2) Staff was hospitable & attentive. 3) Convenient access, connected by sheltered walkways to and from the train station. Have never stayed at this hotel chain before, but will certainly consider staying at their hotels in other cities.

Worth the money if you can afford it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/28/05
Located in the beautiful Minato Mirai 21 area of Yokohama this 5 star hotel has something many Japanese hotel rooms don't have: size! The rooms are larger than nearby Pan Pacific Hotel and Nikko Royal Park Hotel.
