Ramada Plaza Park Place, Halifax

Definitely the worst hotel stay I have ever had. Staff flaunted their authority and made sure to try and imtimidate the guests. The staff literally watched every move the children made and were very rude when confronting the children. We were informed that they are not accustomed to having that many children staying at the hotel at one time. Maybe the inticement of a waterslide and free stay for children should not be advertised. The music from the banquet rooms vibrated our rooms on the first floor but ironically we were told to keep the noise down. Because of the loud music, a few of us adults met in the lobby where there were comfortable chairs and couches. We were offered 1 of 2 options... we could either quiet down or go to bed!!!! unbelieveable!!!! This was allegedly due to a complaint from the room above where we were sitting. That was a little too much for us considering the room above us was MY room. As for the other rooms above us, the other adults in my company occupied them. After questioning why we were being treated this way the staff became furious with us. We did end up going to bed after a heated discussion. The next morning we entered the dining room for breakfast where they had a lovely buffet set up. It included a continental breakfast as well as a breakfast buffet. NO,it was not a free continental breakfast like many hotels have. It was a pricey $8.99. We were not waited on so we helped ourselves to the buffet. One of the ladies accompanying me had a muffin and cup of coffee. Her bill for that was $8.99!!! When questioning this expensive muffin, the waiter informed her that she had taken the muffin off of the buffet therefore she was charged for the continental breakfast. He told her that if she would have ordered off the menu her muffin would have been less expensive. She told him she would go to the front desk to complain. He told her that he was the manager of the dining area and would overrule the front desk. I wonder if that was true because after the lady's husband complained to the front desk, one of the supervisors was in a heated discussion with the "waiter". The icing on the cake was when we were paying our bill. The "waiter" rudely poked his way along side the supervisor and even more rudely blurted out to her that he needed room to work there too. Outrageous!!!! We watched as they bickered back and forth for a few minutes before we checked out. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
