Welcome Home (former) Pittsburghers
By Christopher, 06/01/08
This was a great place to stay. Although the rooms are pretty small, the place was very comfortable. The doorman was great at accomodating us for an evening ball game. Kids loved the cookies, backpacks and the friendliness of the staff. The meals were very good also eating at the hotel for breakfast in the morning. This is defintely a return to place for staying in Pittsburgh. Although I wonder about staying downtown, it's a great location if you need to get around the city.

Super place!
By Mimi, 01/29/08
We came here for a business meeting at the Omni. The majority of our group was at the Omni and I felt bad for them - small rooms, dark halls. Our room was wonderful - large, roomy, light - and what comfortable beds! Restaurant staff efficient and food was great! Our co-workers were jealous that they didn't stay here - that says it all! Will recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Pittsburgh!

By BJ, 05/30/07
This has nothing to do with the Hotel. My experience with Yahoo Travel alias Travelocity was such an upsetting experience I can never again book a hotel car or flight. If I want to deal with an Indosian travel agent i will call directly to there or whatever the @

Steps from the arena
By MaryEllen, 11/23/06
The Doubletree Hotel is just steps from Mellon Arena - the perfect place to stay when going to see the Penguins. Whether you go by yourself, with a friend, or with someone special, I recommend the "Romance Package". It comes with chocolate covered strawberries and your choice of wine... and breakfast the next morning - all to be enjoyed in the comfort of your spacious, extremely comfortable suite. The beds are so comfortable with tons of pillows and a feather bed...and the service is top notch. This is THE place to stay!

Small room poor service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/06
Our room was odly laid out with a bathroom that was so small it did not even have a counter to set your toiletries on. The service at the front desk was horrible, and the bed was so uncomfortable that you could barely sleep. They were having a problem with the internet service and after complaining they sent someone to my room much later to fix it after I was already in bed. I am a Hilton Honors member and stay at Hilton hotels over 50 nights per year. This was one of the worst for a DoubleTree, usually the lower level Hampton Inns are all nicer than this place. Better off to take a chance on any other hotel in the area

The service and quality are unbeatable!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/06
I do a great deal of traveling and I'm in Pittsburgh at least twice a month. I can't express how happy I am to now have the Doubletree Hotel Pittsburgh City Center as my new home away from home while I am in Pittsburgh. The hotel has finished a multi-million dollar renovation and the results are brand new guest rooms with the Doubletree's Sweet Dreams Bedding, flat screen TVs, a gorgeous new lobby and an awesome new restaurant! The service throughout my stay was unbeatable and I can't wait to go back! They treat you like family and the accommodations are truly magnificent!

Wonderful Hotel, cant wait for Doubletree
By United, 06/09/05
I have had the pleasure of staying here a few times on group trips, and can not wait for the changeover to Doubeltree. The new management is great and the improvements in the staff is amazing. The new Doubletree guest rooms are great, and the plastic on the floor is to protect the carpeting for rennovation. This is a great hotel, great staff, great sales department, great rooms. I loved the Wireless internet in the rooms, and the 7-11 in the lobby!!! When the changeover to Doubletree is complete this will be the top hotel in Pittsburgh!!

I could not wait to complain about the bad service!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/05
Hotel is under reconstruction as it has been sold to another Hotel chain (Hilton?). So, no interest in providing a good service. As soon as we checked in, we were informed that they could not respect what was written in the Yahoo reservation. "they always have the wrong and old information about the hotel....". So, although I have reserved for two queen beds I was (after discussing the issue for some time...) give a two double beds suite. One more example of bad service : TV remote control did not have batteries, there were never provided although it was requested at least three times... Not a big deal...But again no interest in giving service to people who are sharing with them lag of confort provided by the construction going on....
