The Abbey Hotel White'S Group, Donegal

Stayed at the Abbey Hotel Donnegal for four nights. The room smelled of nicotine. The light fittings were broken. The bathroom had faeces on the fittings. The beds had seen better days and were lousy - bed bugs. Noise from drunken youths and buses/taxis pulling up outside kept us awake all night till 4 am. The TV reception was terrible. The staff were rude.

Do not go to this Hotel on a weekend ! The music can be heard to the 3rd floor. Weekend local party until 4am.Ate all my meals at the Thai resturant next door excellent. Car park is 200 yards away. Bus's coming and going from front of hotel and crowded lobby. A shame this hotel could be a 4 star property but owners are pimping it.

A nicely situated hotel, right in the centre of Donegal town. Rooms much larger than average & cater well for the traveller regarding tea/coffee making facilities. Beautifully furnished & extremely clean & tidy. Staff, particularly reception & bar, extemely helpful. Food was well prepared & good choices, with copious amounts of veg if required. Only complaint was that service at evening meal was a little haphazard.Perhaps at times a little too hasty to serve the next course

The Hotel is lovely most of the staff are very nice and helpful. Music in the front bar is excellent. We were there on a Thursday nite and the Mucky Ducks were in the bar they are an excellent band.....
