Days Inn Stone Mountain, Stone Mountain

I stayed here a few nights ago and was very surprised by how nice it was. I went in not expecting much and ended up feeling very at home. The man running this place is an absolute treasure. He's was incredibly nice and kind to me. I thought I had a taxi appointment set up to take me to my destination but it ended up falling through, so I went and asked him if he knew of any taxi services that could help me. Without any hesitation, he pulls out a card of a great taxi service and called them himself. The taxi came and got me to my destination on time. He saved my butt. The pool was very nice and clean, there are vending machines on two levels, easy access to ice, it's in a nice neighborhood with a McDonalds about 150 feet away, a big powerful air conditioner/heater in your room and the people in the area were nice. I only stayed one night but it was a good night filled with plenty of rest. I ended up staying at another hoetl in Montgomery Alabama and ended up missing this place terribly. Its a nice place to stay with a great man working it.

We were pleasantly surprised with our hotel room for the rate. We had been staying farther away for our annual trek from Durham NC to Stone Mountain with our grandson and paying a lot more. We had 2 nice queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, small table with chairs, coffee pot, continental breakfast, and lots of hot water for the shower. It was clean, too. The clerk could have been a little more attentive, but he gave us good directions for evening meals and expanded breakfast restaurants. We plan on staying there again in 2008.
