Thanksgiving at Stone Mountain 2007

We were pleasantly surprised with our hotel room for the rate. We had been staying farther away for our annual trek from Durham NC to Stone Mountain with our grandson and paying a lot more. We had 2 nice queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, small table with chairs, coffee pot, continental breakfast, and lots of hot water for the shower. It was clean, too. The clerk could have been a little more attentive, but he gave us good directions for evening meals and expanded breakfast restaurants. We plan on staying there again in 2008.

Lights out!

Upon check-in the manager was too busy talking on the phone to actually pay attention to my needs. It annoys me when they do that. The room was clean, but the bathroom smelled horrible, and we had to have that cleaned. During our stay the power went out, and the hotel has no back-up generator, so we had to sweat or swim in the pool. We also requested extra pillows multiple times but we only got them on the last day of our stay. The beds were comfortable though, and it's quite close to the Stone Mountain Park entrance. If you decide to book this hotel, it's behind the Krystal. Traffic is murderous getting out.
