The Hotel Polski is a friendly place located just off Florianska , by the City Wall. Recently renovated, the hotel has two wings and the suites in the 'old' wing are quite luxurious while some of the rooms in the 'new' wing are rather boxy. I have recently returned from a weekend visit to Krakow where I stayed with members of my family at this charming hotel.
The hotel is elegant, the service is excellent and the staff are charming.
I would have no hesitation in returning but would choose to book a room at the back of the hotel where it is quieter at weekends.
Hotel Polski Pod Bialym Orlem has a beautiful lobby with Flemish tapestries and an arched ceiling. All rooms have different styles and sizes. It is located next to the Florian Gate and the Czartoryski Museum (which houses the DaVinci painting "Lady with the Ermine"). The Old Town is only a few blocks away. The staff is very friendly and tried to help me anyway they could. The breakfast was delicious. They have a big buffet that includes cereal, eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, etc. Would highly recommend this hotel.
The service at the hotel was outstanding. At the front desk they knew our names, and were extremely helpful. They helped us setting up the tours of Wieliczka and Oswiecim over a phone from the States. I felt very at home.
The breakfast was just wonderful, kept all of us full until dinner time.
The rooms were really big, with high ceilings.
The overall decor is very nice and old. You feel like a royalty there.
The location, at the entrance to the old town is absolutely fantastic. A room on the second floor (like ours was) allows for people watching well into the night. Service was very good, also. The only drawback: becasue of its central location, you hear revelers well into the early morning hours and the sounds of the city (we were awoken by construction just outside our window at 6AM, and couldn't go to sleep until 5 AM because of the drunken tourists/locals outside) can be bothersome. Overall, its an absolutely perfect place for those who enjoy to be in the center of it all, but much less so for those who are looking for peace and quiet.
As far as location is concerned this is ideal. It is in the heart of the old town just a short walk to the main square. It is also a great location to stumble home after sampling a night of superb Polish hospiality.
The rooms are large clean and simple. They have everything you want for a base to explore the city.
Breakfast is buffet style with a large range of cheese and meats. Get up early if you want to catch the scrambled egg before it runs out!
For the price - this was a really good place to stay.
This is a really great place to stay if price is important. It's a dormitory for the Jagiellonian University during
the academic year. They offer simple but pleasant rooms, sharing a bathroom with another room. The hostel is located ...
