Victorian Village on Elkhart Lake, Elkhart Lake

We stayed there around 7 nights .. The first two nights were horrible... the beds are about 100 years old and killed our backs... the shower curtain had mold all over it... they did move us to another room which was tolerable but not worth the money at all... the TV had terrible reception the bed was still about 100 years old but they had put some kind of mattress cover over it to make it tolerable.... Also, we paid half of our trip in advance and paid the balance upon check-in which the clerk told us we were paid in full and no other charges would be applied to our card... Well NOT TRUE... we get home and find another charge of over 400 dollars.. they did NOT contact us in anyway and say there were charging our card and they charged it while we were still there... These people are liars and theives, my credit card company wouldn't do anything about it because they lied to them about what rate they told us and I didn't have any room rate in writing (trusting them).. This will never happen again.. You can find much much much better hotels in the area for a little more and some even cheaper.. Do NOT stay here at any cost other than free.. but get it in writing first!!!! Or only pay in cash DONT ever give them a CREDIT CARD they can charge it whatever they want if you stay there- no matter what they tell you!!!!

Love the small world intimate experience of the Victorian Village Resort which can't be matched by the giant resort (Osthoff) down the street. The Victorian Village Resort offers the closest rooms to beautiful Elkhart Lake with a priceless lakeside beach, Tiki Bar, and pool that definitely make the ammenities of the resort. Some of the condos offer amazing quality that surpasses the highly rated rooms of the Osthoff and nearby American Club. Dining at the Back Porch Restaurant is an amazing experience. They offer some of the most amazing authentic and fresh cuisine I have ever seen. Great place for cocktails, hanging out lakeside, and for dinner.

Place was great. Beach is really nice, outdoor pool is great. Rooms are adequate if not exciting. Just don't go to their "Backyard Bistro!" Worst food I have ever had in my life. And it was expensive, about $75 per couple.
