Our favorite hotel in Germany!

My wife and I have stayed in hotels all over Germany, Europe, and Asia (some quite expensive), and we keep coming back to the "Kaiser" year after year. You can't beat the central location - walking distance from both the main train station and the medieval city - but the service and the quiet, genteel atmosphere are really what makes this hotel special. The staff, from the management down to the maids, make us feel like valued, honored guests rather than anonymous customers. Although the rooms are not overly luxurious, they are clean, comfortable, and safe... and besides, who visits Europe to sit around in their room and watch TV? That said, the "Kaiserhof"-class rooms are nicely appointed, offering simple elegance in a classical style (we spent our wedding night in one, and loved it).
You could probably find cheaper (or more expensive) places to stay in Nrnberg, but if you're looking for honest charm, understated elegance, and the personal attention that goes with a family business, choose the "Kaiser!" Unless you actually *prefer* blandness, uniformity, and being treated like cattle - in which case choose a motel or better yet stay home.
