Frequent Business Traveler

Walk to the Dallas Cowboy stadium - Walk to the Texas Rangers baseball stadium - Six Flags theme park and Hurricane Harbor water park 1 mile away....WOW what a location. We had a chance to visit the restaraunt that shares a parking lot, Pappadeaux - great food. Several other food choices are a walk away too. The hotel is about to go through a major renovation too. I will continue to stay here when I am in town for a Cowboys game, hope I can catch a baseball game in the Spring.

Next to the parks
I stayed here during a business trip and I had no idea it was so close to the parks. I would have made plans to see a game or six flags if I would have planned some off time. The location is not next to a restaurant so you will need to drive a few miles to find one.

Perfect hotel for families
By Daniel McGauley, 3/25/09
We staid at the Courtyard by Marriott while visiting Six Flags Over Texas. It's amazing how close everything is to each other in that area. Turning around you can see Six Flags, the Texas Rangers ballpark and the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, all in one spot. Pretty cool. The hotel is average, but many features made us quite happy. First off, the kids LOVED the pool. It's an indoor/outdoor pool that lets you swim from the inside to the outside. The pool is a tiny bit run-down, but it is still quite fun. There are towels outside and two phones that dial directly to 911. There are no life guards. The hot tub is pretty large, but the kids mostly spent their time in the pool. We got a room with a King and a sofa pull-out bed. We have 3 kids (9, 4, and 3), and the room was plenty big enough for us. The t.v. is an older CRT type of t.v., but it had plenty of channels. The "services" section of the t.v. crashed every time I tried to access it. The hotel has signs pointing to vending machines that don't exist. You just have to go to the front desk and buy drinks/snacks that are in a fridge next to the front desk. They served a continental style breakfast, but we didn't have time to try it. The coffee machine by the front desk was nice, and they also have computer services nearby. One great thing about the hotel is that it is feet away from a Joe's Crab Shack that has a playground. There are a few other restaurants within walking distance, but this one was literally right outside. All 3 entertainment venues, the Rangers ballpark, the Cowboys stadium, and Six Flags, are within 5 minutes of driving. The Courtyard by Marriott is a little hidden behind the giant Semens building, but it's only two turns to any attraction around there. I don't think I'll stay at this hotel again mostly because we like to try out different hotels, but we really enjoyed our experience there. It was one of the only hotels in the region that took 5 guests in one room. It was also much cheaper than the other hotels we found nearby. We paid $109 for 1 night (plus tax). Overall, this hotel is definitely worth taking a look at.

An easily missed hotel that should remain that way
By David E, 1/9/06
This hotel is easily missed, since is back from the road on a street between 2 restaurants. It is older that I expected, and the decor of the room was not up to what I had come to expect from this chain. Upon stepping into the hotel I was greeted with an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke. This smell is present not only in the lobby area and check in area, but also down the halls. I do not know if it was that the cigarette smoke was so overpowering in the rest of the hotel that the room did not seem to have an odor, or if they had in some way eliminated the smell from the room. The front desk clerk seem rather cold, did not smile, and since I was checking in on new years I was required to sign an agreement not to have a party in my room (which I had no intention of doing in the first place). Throughout the night there was a great deal of wind noise, even though it was not blowing hard, and there is apparently a rail road track close by as I could hear each train go by. I see no reason to return to this hotel since there are several others close by which like would likely be much better.

first class all the way
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/7/06
I read that this hotel was recently remodeled. They did an excellent job. The room and the lobby and all the rest of the hotel just looked perfect. We went there for our honeymoon and just rented a regular room. The staff was as friendly as could be. All the big things were done well and so were all the little things. We really liked the cookies and coffee and apple cider in the lobby in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again and we would recommend it to our friends. Only 4 blocks to Bricktown and two blocks to the Arena.

Furniture should meet the cost.
By Bill, 5/25/04
Just having returned from a weekend stay of May 21 thru 23, I felt the need to write and talk about how to what is in my opinion cheap beds, resulted in what my Dr. described as " Severe back strain, and Severe back sprain." Over all the staff and the building and everything in it are A+++ but the bedding which seemed to be a box springs way shorter then advertised, and a 2 inch if that mattress. Would be a great place to visit again but not at the risk of injury to your back or some other body part.
