Days Inn Kirksville, Kirksville

I'm a Kirksville resident and, when my parents came to town to visit, they stayed here and I got to see firsthand how bad this hotel has become. All the fixtures and furniture that I saw were either broken or barely working. There were no towels in the pool area, barely any towels in the room and the place just looked, felt, and smelled dirty and unkempt. Don't waste your $75 (or more!).

Awful. Not very clean, actually bugs running around in the missing slat between the carpet and bathroom tile. Not very friendly front end staff. The breakfast was horrid. Cold sausage, old eggs and you could have knocked someone out if you threw a biscuit at them. I stay at a lot of places and this ranks right up there in the top 3 worst.

First of all I want to say that they people who worked there were very friendly and well mannered. The place itself was nice. Upon entering the main lobby (which is very large) you see a bar off to one side, and a nice little restaurant off to the other side, with an indoor pool and video game area. There is also a billiard table. The whole area was clean and well kept. However the bar nor the restaurant were open for business. We were informed they do not open until 5 pm. When we did return to the restaurant later that evening, once again the staff was very curtious, we were informed that the restaurant only served burgers, hotdogs, and chili. They did serve beer. Which is fine if thats all you want, but we were expecting a wider menu. Once we got to our room it was clean. The hallways were clean. The whole place looked as if it had new paint and carpet. However inside the room we found old furniture that was badly stained with water spots and who knows what else. The table, chairs, desk were shabby at best. The bed however was comfortable. With all of this considered it is my opinion it was not worth the money. If they would correct the problems I have listed I am sure they would have a very nice hotel. As of this date, I will spend my money elsewhere.

I like the fact that they had a pool indoor. I liked that fact they had a buffet, but you had to pay??? I like the fact you can have a drink or 2 and not to worry aobut getting to your room by drinking and driving... they have a small bar. I didn't like the fact that there were so many children in the pool, you couldn't relax and have fun. There should be an age limit to unattended children, and followed!!! The furniture needed updated bad... or at the very least cleaned! What did they do let the guest poor soda all over the palce and not clean up after them????

I wish I had read the reviews before I booked this hotel. It smelled awful when we entered the room. The carpet and furniture appeared old and dirty. You can "feel" the dirt in this hotel. Our air conditioner didn't work in the first room, so they gave us another room. While we were in bed, someone tried to enter the room, but couldn't because of the night lock. They had put someone else in our room. Then, they called us at 7:00 the next morning to say we weren't registed to that room. They did take something off the bill and gave us free breakfast, which was okay.

Hello I stayed in Kirksville and went straight to days in for the free wireless and the one by me seems great. This place SMELLS like rotting wood and the AC unit gave off a smell like old sneakers. I called the front desk and no one answered after several rings. I had to go down there and the guy was sitting in his chair watching TV. The hallways smelled like a flood went through and all they did was crack a window to air it out. Your better off pitching a tent by the creek and bathing at the Msdonlads down the road, and yo uwill eat a better meal.

We have stayed here numerous times before and it was very nice. However, this past week-end was completely opposite. We had to take cold showers every morning, the beds actually sagged, stains on the furniture, the clerk at the counter when I checked was rude and inconsiderate of the issues that I brought to his attention. I told him that we come to Kirksville often and normally we stay here, but we will never be back. His response "That's fine, not a problem" and then proceeded to tell me that since they were full we should expect no hot water in the morning. I think if someone values their customers they would have a different response. Think long and hard about staying here!!!!!!!

This hotel was dirty, the noise was terrible, there was no hot water to shower with, and of course the "free" breakfast that was not free. I'm kicking myself for not reading the other reviews before I booked this hotel - it won't happen again!
