Family Away From Home
Christmas of 2004, my place of employment failed to
respect the state of emergeny that was issued by Indiana during the worst snowstorm that I have seen
in my 52 years. We had over 21 inches of snow in Southern Indiana which is not equipped to deal with more than a 3 inch accumulation. We were trapped in the Post Office and the last of us finally got fed up
and walked out on them. Some kind individual dropped us off at the Marriot which is in front of our Postal Distribution Site. We walked in at 2:30 a.m., the staff provided us with wonderful rooms, drinks, and
other necessry items. They were absolutely wonderful and very accomodating. They gave us government rates,
and were not overly concerned with our method and time
of payment (luckily, I had a credit card).
The next day, their marketing manager came in and personally took me home in his four wheel drive which was quite a distance from their hotel. I live in Newburgh In.
I felt sooooo safe, very comfortable, and did not
have to worry about major bill accumulation.
The staff was friendly and I felt like I was at home.
I always stay at courtyards on vacation. Marriot
is absolutely awesome because of their great staff!
