"Drove a
In the year 1988, I first visited Anniston, Al. My son had recently joined the U.S. Army and was station at the nearby army base. My daughter and I drove all night to reach Anniston in time for my son's gratuation from basic training.
I immediately felt a warm and welcome feeling upon arriving in Anniston.
My daugher and I decided to stayed at The Victoria, Country Inn and Restaurant because it looked so beautiful from the street. How could we have been so lucky to have chosen The Victoria! Upon checking in, the staff was gracious and informative. The rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable, and clean. And the restaurant, what can I say, we hit the jackpot! The atmosphere, staff, and food where as good as it gets!!! I especially remember the warm, fresh taste of the bread...my salad with the special poppy seed dressing was out of this world! My only regret, not asking for the recipe!
I have often thought of our visit to Anniston and the wonderful stay at The Victoria. The warm, friendly people of this beautiful state certainly left us with sweet memories. I truly would, "drive all night" to do it again!!!
