Nice Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/09
The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. We didn't get down to breakfast until 8:55 and the staff left the food out a little long for us to eat. The only complaint I had for this hotel was that there was ants on the bathroom floor and in the shower.

Well worth the price
By Jane, 04/06/09
Just stayed there when in town for a family wedding. Very nice woman at front desk both days. Helpful with great sense of humor. Got a regular room, not a suite. It was small but very clean. Bathroom was toilet plus large shower stall (larger than usual shower but slightly smaller than a tub.) Sink was in the room with the beds, though partioned a bit so there was some privacy. Room would have been too small if we'd been there for several days or spending a lot of time in it. Would have wanted a suite in that case. All was quiet at night, but we were away from the elevator. Rooms near there may get lobby noise. The hotel itself is set far back from a highway that's not well travelled, so it's convenient but quiet. Clean and warm indoor pool with tables around so the parents could chat and drink coffee while the kids swam in the morning. Have one public computer with internet access that costs 20 cents a minute, with a $2 minimum for cash and $3 minimum for credit card. Good breakfast: cereals, bagels and toast, donuts, hard boiled eggs, fruit. Overall, I'd definitely say it was worth the price and would stay there again.

Lots of Noise! Room switched @ sign in
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/06
Stayed there 5 times now, My room was switched from what I had asked for to another room. There is lots of noise from school groups near the elevator and on the first floor. It beats a room @ FEMA/NFA but not by much.

Visiting the National Fire Academy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/05
Check in was easy. Rooms were large and clean. Surprised that it even had a swimming pool. Some of my group were unpleasantly surprised that they were out of coffee in the morning. Good price. Excellent location for visiting the NFA. A little difficult to find.

Travelers paradise
By Warrior, 09/01/05
I think the Sleep Inn in Emmittsberg is a wonderful place to stay. I have stayed there many times, mostly for buisness purposes and always enjoy. The staff is always very courtious and helpfull. The rooms are always clean and kept nicely. For the buisness profesional the rooms are equiped with a great working desk and wireless internett which is always an invaluable tool. I recomend this hotel to anyone who travels for their work.

Clean and convenient
By Jodi, 07/09/05
This is a clean hotel with a nice indoor pool as well as a family lounge that offers continuous coffee, a television and a mini library. The breakfast was a bit scantly but OK. Service was excellent.

No charge for the Chihuahua?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/05
I liked the beautiful and quiet location. What I didn't like: 1. The prices were about $30 higher than normal because of some school graduation - I guess that most hotels do the same - Oh well. 2. My biggest complaint was that when I arrived, I told the two gentleman (one was a trainee) that I had a small 3 pound Chihuahua in a carry/kennel with me. I asked if there was a charge for my dog and the man (not the trainee) said, "No." The next morning, when I was checking out, the "trainee" and the manager were at the counter. A $25 charge was attached to my bill (for the dog). I questioned the manager and she said that there was a $25 fee for dogs. I explained that I was told that there was no charge for my dog when I had checked in. She stated that I still had to pay the fee and that the employee had done this before and that he would be reprimanded. Whether on not this individual would be reprimanded was not my concern. I should not have been charged at check-out for something I was specifically told that I would not be.

NO Kids????
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/08/05
When I first called this hotel the receptionist was very nice, spoke about all the services the hotel has to offer and the types of rooms available. When I told her I had four children (We travel to Fla two to three times a year and are very behaved and seasoned travellers), she told me immediately she had nothing available. Eventhough I offered to purchase two suite rooms she said no. I have only experienced this one other time at a hotel and we never went back. I can't say I would tell anyone else that this hotel is there. I will be staying in Fredrick. Thanks
