I will not return to this hotel.
My family & I had stayed here a couple years ago before the name change to Baymont Inn. We did not have a good experience then, and not much has changed. Before you ask why we stayed there again, we were forced to stay in the hotel selected for us by the soccer tournament in which my son was playing.
The good: Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very polite, and will work with you to make your stay enjoyable. By far the best thing about this hotel is the staff. The TV was fine, not a flat screen, but still large enough to see and it worked properly. The air conditioning unit also wokred very well.
The bad: No swimming pool, which is not a total deal breaker. No where to eat closer than 5-10 miles. Nearest store is the gas station next door. Otherwise, you are driving to find something, with the Univeristy being the closest. The room does not have a thermostat, but the cooler/heater has "high" & "low" settings for both cool and warm, with a know to adjust the setting from 1 thru 5. Not the best system, but worked well enough. A little loud and rumbling when it first kicked on, but not that bad once you get used to it. Not every room has a refrigerator, so bring a cooler with you since there is nothing nearby.
The ugly: The first room smelled. I chalked it up to the room being a smoking room. I was quickly proven wrong when the same smell was in the non-smoking room to which we were moved. We were on the second floor, so we heard every little footsep taken in the room above us. Finally, as indicated above, we were there as part of a soccer tournament and were forced to pay the rack rate which was over inflated for a hotel with limited amenities.
Conclusion: Stay somewhere else if you are with a family or a light sleeper. If you are just passing through and need a place to sleep for a few hours, this is right up your alley.
