Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center City-Convention Center, Philadelphia

Would like to share an experience we are currently having with the Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center City-Convention Center. I would like people interested in staying at this hotel to fully understand this hotels policy and priorities. We are a group of men, mostly active service men serving in the army and navy, who if not overseas serving our country, annually attend the Army/Navy football game with our fathers. Our group stayed at this hotel last year and our overall experience was satisfactory, especially with their location near the transit train. That being said we booked 14 rooms again this year where the game is again being played in Philadelphia. We booked the rooms with credit card in July for our weekend the second week of December. We received a phone call one week before our arrival date from management telling us we no longer had rooms because our rooms were needed for their "reward members". They explained to us this is their policy and they would put us at one of their other properties. Now, not only did they bump us but they booked us at someone else's property 10 miles outside of the city at a higher room rate! We have guys flying in from all areas of the country. Guys who are on fixed incomes. Guys making the effort to be at the game because they are not currently overseas. We are now going to have to rent vehicles, pay for cabs, etc. I feel this hotel is a disgrace. Our reservation was worthless and I am disgusted how they treat guests who risk their lifes serving their country. I have never written a review for anything let alone a negative review. I just wanted other potential guests to read our experience. Go Navy beat Army!!!

The exeprinece was different...I was working a conference...this was the hotel the conferenced picked. The only good thing I can say is most of the staff were very professional....and I say most because I had a back pack disappear and the hotel said it was not left in the room. The building next to the parking lot was having renovation and I had cement on my car... I would not choose this hotel if I was paying nor would Irecommend it to others.

This hotel was very clean and the housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, valet parkers, etc. were all great and very helpful. The staff overall were some of the friendliest ppl we have met in a hotel. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate us! We came in from another philly hotel a little further out and were sorry we did not come to this hotel first! The hotel is very clean and is in a good location...close to many sites. (The area outside is a little deceiving though because of the construction going on and being located on a little side street that does look a little shady, but we as well DID NOT encounter any problems at all. The hotel by far exceeds the appearance from the outside! VERY NICE! Our housekeeping maid was GREAT and very friendly and helpful!! (Thanks Cierra!) We were not here for vacation, unfortunately because I had to come for a week for several medical tests at Temple University Hospital out on Broad Street. (That was very tiring and tedious every day running back and forth for a week and then having to move from one hotel to another, but coming to the HAMPTON really made us feel at home! One more thing, my daughter and I have "severe allergies" and "Asthma" which forbids us from staying at many hotels due to "molds", "odors", etc. and the HAMPTON, by far, again exceeded our expectations! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WOULD COME BACK AGAIN!

I can find nothing wrong at all with my stay here. Great staff. Clean. New renovation it looked like. Wireless internet could have been a little better with range but ethernet was at the desk. Hampton is the best value for my money.

I stayed here for several days during the NEA's Representative Assembly. The hotel was totally booked up and the staff didn't miss a beat. Breakfast was awesome, and when I couldn't eat on site there was always a bag breakfast waiting for me. Phyliss the conceirege was very helpful in directing me around town and booked us at an awesome restaurant, Moshulu's, for the fourth of July. Any question I had she had the answer to. The desk staff was very courtious and the valet parking is reasonable and the staff was very quick to get my vehicle. I recommend this hotel to anyone. It's close to all of the attractions in Philly.

Our room was very clean, the complimentary breakfast was great, the staff was pleasant and professional, and it was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in center city Philadelphia, especially considering the rate included breakfast. Very convenient to the convention center, Reading Terminal Market, and to the historic district. That said, the walk to the hotel from busy Market Street (about 3 blocks)could be a little unsettling at night. Nevertheless, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

This hotel has been totally renovated and is under new Management with true hospitality professionals in the drivers seat. The breakfast has a choice of hot and cold items and the servers walk around refilling your coffee and handing out after breakfast mints. We walked to all of the cities historical sites and were assisted by concierge service (not available in most Hampton Inns). The hotel had an evenning reception Mon-Thurs and had Family movie night on Friday in the Lobby Cafe. This hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. The hot tub was great for me and my husband, while the kids were in the indoor pool. Free breakfast, free internet service, free newspaper etc. In my opinion Philadelphia has one of the best Hampton Inns, in the country. Keep up the good work

The location couldn't be better! We can walk to the Convention Center, Chinatown, and many of the tourist sights. It has a pool which is a requirement at any hotel where we stay. The staff have always been very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast is carb-heavy, but there are plenty of choices.

overall I thought our stay at the Hampton Inn was quite enjoyable. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, housekeeping good. The location was close to shopping and sights. But the immediate surroundings of the hotel were less than inviting, it seemed to be a bit of a seedy area. We didn't encounter any problems however. The complimentary breakfast was very good. I don't have any complaints about this hotel. Good value for money.

Nothing special about this hotel. The service that I received checking in and out of the hotel was horrific. The valet parking was not organized. You were to call in advance to have your car out front but when you returned your car they expected you to just leave your keys at an unmanned counter. There was also high-speed internet. The internet worked well when I was connected with a line but the wireless was a little shaky. Good - The room size. It was nice and spacious.
